“We did some really good things as a team on Saturday,” Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman stated on Monday afternoon in his weekly press conference. It looks like the Fighting Irish’s performance against Miami (OH) has impressed Marcus Freeman. While the head coach acknowledged his team’s performance and focused on the positive aspects of it, he also emphasized the need for improvement.

Louisville Cardinals have won back-to-back three games this season. They dominated Georgia Tech and defeated them by 12 points. Georgia’s defense struggled to put pressure on their quarterback. Louisville Cardinals receivers stepped up and did not fall into Georgia’s trap and displayed several big performances. Week 5 is around the corner, and the Cardinals are set to face Notre Dame. If the game settles for an unexpected tie, the alarm bell for head coach Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame will ring louder.

Freeman’s team very well understands the pressure of entering the game against the Cardinals. Only a few days are left for the game, and experts have started their predictions. A YouTube channel posted a video where ESPN’s analysts are seen analyzing the game and Notre Dame’s game against Louisville is a must-win game for the Fighting Irish. “That is a fact. If they don’t win this game, according to the Allstate playoff predictor, their chances of making the CFP drop to 10%. Not only they have to win out and run the table, they have to look good in every game doing it,” Heather Dinich said, via RAJ SAWLE’s YouTube channel. With college football heating up, the pressure is mounting on Freeman and his players. He knows that a loss severely diminishes their playoff dreams.

He also shed some light on the matchup during his press conference and said, “Saturday is the Irish Wear Green game versus Louisville, a 3-0 team that is playing at a really high level right now. As you can see from the video, they’re good in all three phases, so it will be a great challenge for our team.” Louisville hasn’t lost a single game so far, which made Freeman acknowledge their talent and versatility. He complemented their offense, solid defense, and effective special teams.

Head coach Freeman highlights the importance of his team’s preparation as Louisville’s strong performance in all positions and balanced attack poses a significant challenge because the Fighting Irish would try their best to be in the playoffs to get closer to the national championship. And in order to do that, they need to bring their A-game.

Louisville Cardinals display versatility and balanced strategy ahead of Notre Dame

After winning over Jacksonville State by 49-14 in the second week, the Cardinals accomplished what they needed to defeat Georgia Tech on Saturday. Although they struggled a bit with their defense and it wasn’t as strong as in their previous two games, they still dominated and made a significant impact. The team’s offensive lineup has exceeded expectations, especially their running game has improved a lot, which is helping them to dominate. Talking about their stats in the last two games, they rushed for an impressive 526 yards, showcasing their strength on the ground.

The Cardinals managed to rush on 63 yards against Georgia Tech; however, it is not a bad sign because it shows that they can win the games by getting the ball in the air as well. Tyler Shough threw for 269 yards and scored two touchdowns and once again proved himself and clearly showed that he can be a dependable quarterback, especially for a team that needs stability in that position.

If the Cardinals can throw the ball effectively even though their ground game struggles, they will be a tough competition for major football programs. Right now they seem to have no significant weaknesses or setbacks. Only time will tell what will unfold during their matchup against Notre Dame.
