A Texas Longhorns fan? Who are you rooting for to watch in their next game, Arch Manning or Quinn Ewers? The same questions and discussions have been a repetitive process throughout the 2024 college football season. It all started when Steve Sarkisian brought in Manning to take the place of an injured Ewers. However, little did he know Manning played great, even better than Ewers. But in their last week’s game against Georgia, Steve had hopes for Ewers when he replaced him in the second half, but his performance was not satisfactory, leading to a bitter loss. So, what do fans say about it?

Chris Vannini, a senior writer of college football news, shared a clip of a discussion he had with analysts on the athletics college football podcast. With a caption that read, “There are so many Arch Manning jerseys in Austin. like so many. they’re prominently featured in the team stores.” An analyst, David Ubben, talked about Manning’s growing popularity compared to Ewers.

He started by saying, You know, this opens up a QB controversy for the rest of the season, whether Steve Sarkisian wants that to be the case. He said after the game, Quinn Ewers was the starting quarterback. Well, okay, but now everybody knows that as soon as Quinn is not playing, well, you can put Arch Manning in the game and bench Quinn.”

Steve Sarkisian was asked this on Thursday: What would it take to pull Quinn Ewers from a game to put Arch in? And he’s like, I’m not even answering that question. I’m not even feeling answered on Saturday. And then it happened two days later. And so this is just going to be a thing now, because if you’ve ever been to a Texas game this year, there are so many Arch Manning jerseys everywhere, all around the stadium.”

It’s weird because it’s difficult for Sarkisian or Texas to keep the fans away from liking Manning. Take a walk across the stadium on Texas’s game day and you’ll see the No. 16 Arch Manning’s jersey is all over the place compared to the Ewers. Manning’s popularity is at another level because fans want to see Peyton and Eli Manning’s nephew on the field. Poor Ewers landed a Dr. Pepper collab, but the rest of the stadium was covered with Manning’s supporters.

Will Arch Manning start Texas’s next game?

After Texas’s heartbreaking loss to Georgia on Saturday, 247 reported that Ewers will be benched for the rest of the season and will be preparing for his debut 2025 NFL draft. Although 247 Sports deleted their latest post referring to the Eagles getting benched, it said, “BREAKING NEWS, the Texas QB Eagles will sit out the rest of the season to prepare for the NFL draft.” this post was later shared by some fan pages.

This post has circulated a buzz in the college football world, but soon after that, they clarified the reality of that post by sharing another post. “The 247 Sports Instagram account was hacked earlier today with a fabricated report on Quinn Evans. we regret any negative impact.” However, fans who were eagerly waiting for this to happen quickly jumped into an argument.

Some fans supported that, saying they want to see Manning in their upcoming game, while others suggested that the era of Quinn Ewers’ supremacy cannot end like this. With that, it’s not yet officially confirmed who will play their upcoming game against Vanderbilt. Catch up later to be the first one to know all the updates on this story.
