Arch Manning’s mediocrity is still haunting him in Week 8 of college football. The Longhorns nation is tired of giving him the benefit of the doubt. The former 5-star has completed only 12 of his 27 passes for just 132 yards, and he hasn’t thrown any touchdowns. It’s been 8 weeks, Arch manning has yet to show some Manning magic, also he was under a lot of pressure from the Kentucky defense, including a sack in the fourth quarter that led to Texas having to punt the ball away, which could’ve wrap the game for Steve Sarkisian. The only good thing that came was his 25-yard pass to Jordan Washington. Apart from that, it was all Fugazi and JV gunslinger performance. The whole Texas offense has looked out of sync for much of the game.

This is a complete step-back from last week’s performance against the Sooners in the Red River Rivalry. Texas won 23-6, and Manning finished the game 21 of 27 passing for 166 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions. Fans believed Arch Manning finally got the knock. But unfortunately, it was a carry job all along. The Longhorns and Steve Sarkisian can’t always expect to bail to defense to bail them out.

Arch Manning now has 1,400 yards, 12 touchdowns and 5 picks. Also has added 194 yards and five more touchdowns on 47 carries. His stats look solid from the outside, but if you dig deeper, they’re borderline disastrous—especially his completion rate. Longhorns fans can see right through it.

Longhorn Nation: fed up with Arch Manning

Despite Texas winning in overtime with a field goal, fans aren’t cutting any slack for Arch Manning—they went straight after his performance. fans started with, “Arch Manning has been so bad that if Texas just hands the ball off the rest of the night, it would be a massive improvement.” Honestly, that’s not far off. Arch Manning should play more of a game manager rather than the gunslinger we were sold on, especially since his completion rate against Kentucky was under 47%.

Another fan bluntly said, “Arch Manning is terrible, man.” It’s not even a matter of preference or opinion anymore. The free trial ended a long time ago at Sam Houston game for Arch Manning. One user added, “Arch Manning looks like Von Wagner,” referencing the former UCF tight end and professional wrestler. Indeed, Arch even moved like him—he had 11 carries for negative one yard. Does it get any worse than this? Another used chimed with, “Arch Manning is the “Uncle Danny” of that family.” Bit harsh, so far zero return on investment for the Texas. He’s by miles the underachiever of the family.

Last fan commented said the realest thing ever: “Win, lose, or draw, if Arch Manning’s last name was Smith, he’d be an average Joe!” Luckily, Texas barely escaped with the win, but Arch Manning’s disaster-level performance was unavoidable. The Longhorns essentially booted Quinn Ewers, assuming the grass would be greener elsewhere—but it seems we all owe Quinn an apology for judging him too harshly.
