It’s beyond debate that the college football world is undergoing a highly unstable era of flipping. But not everybody follows the crowd. If you are a blue blood program and you think you can swoop in one of the brightest Heisman hopefuls for the year 2025, Ashton Jeanty, you might be wrong. The Boise State sensation is a living epitome of ethics over money, something that made him stand out among the rest. I mean, he’s brilliant on the field, too, no doubt. A whooping 2,497 rushing yards and 29 total touchdowns through 13 games is more than enough to stun any bigwig defender right at a glance. The numbers can still be replaced, but the value he brings to the table can’t be ever.

‘I think the part of the legacy is just that I did things different than everybody seeing the results of that decision right here today, obviously, at that time, you know people couldn’t see that, even some people in my family didn’t quite understand the decision but everybody on the outside looking in, they can totally understand that now and I feel my legacy is bigger than me, is bigger than football, because it will be something that will last. I feel like a very, very long time beyond what I did on the field”, Jeanty voiced his priceless philosophy during a recent interview with KTVB.

Spencer Danielson can rest assured that Jeanty is not going to turn his back on that fervent passion and unique acumen that brought him to Idaho. Throw a seven-figure NIL on his face and check. But do it at your own risk. Because some football factories in the past did so and left empty-handed. His father, Harry, once said his son could easily opt for multiple ”million-dollar” NIL offers from the bigger D-1 schools, but he didn’t.

On top of that, Boise State wasn’t at a very stable place back then. Head coach Andy Avalos got fired in November 2023 and was replaced by Danielson. The transition phase quite essentially brought some challenges to the program. But Jeanty couldn’t care less. He loved the team and the coach, and that was it for him to make the final call.

1 Year later, his decision paid off. Boise State gave him the confidence and the leeway to chisel out the best in him as a prolific Running Back and do wonders in a breakout season. His outstanding grit and performance made him one of the prime favorites to make headlines in Times Square, New York, in a few hours. Travis Hunter fans, just take it slow. Jeanty might not beat Hunter to bag the trophy, but he reached that spot through relentless pursuit. So, even a loss to the cemented Colorado star will be worth it for the rising Broncos guy.

Moving ahead, Jeanty had a ‘dad’ advice to the young college football athletes on the growing NIL allurement.

Ashton Jeanty deems NIL as a major distraction to the CFB athletes

They say, if you don’t chase, you attract. The same goes for Ashton Jeanty. Don’t just let his low-key NIL ideals fool you into thinking he is somehow lacking in the valuation. He isn’t at all. His abundant NIL deal has become a recurring theme of the discussion for a while now. After making an extraordinary mark in the season, Jeanty’s NIL valuation equalized a lump sum of $1.4 million. The Florida native has penned a swirl of lucrative deals with brands such as Hal Davis Jewelers, Boise Hawks, Campus Ink NIL Store, etc. But none of this came at the cost of his core values.

Jeanty believes NIL is important, but it is more when you play for the NFL at a professional level and you have to pay your bills. Before that, it would be wise to prioritize quality and environment over money.

”At the end of the day, I just like thinking about my values, like my core values; that’s not what it’s about me. It was just more about what I could do here rather than someone else back because, like, I think NIL is great, but I think it’s distracting a lot of players from, like, what’s really important that’s making it to the next level,” said the Broncos young star.
