It’s not just the performance that’s under scrutiny anymore. College football players have to be all-rounders to be able to contend for prestigious awards such as the Heisman Trophy. Colorado Buffs’ Travis Hunter has risen as a second-favorite just behind Ashton Jeanty, who is leading the Heisman race. But the Boise State RB just increased his charisma with a noble initiative.

In his X post on October 22, Ashton Jeanty uploaded a video of him thanking the Broncos fan base for their unwavering support. He’s also come up with the idea to give back to the community as he said, “I’m launching The Ashton Jeanty Endowed Scholarship for Football. Join in building this scholarship fund to support future Broncos and help them realize their dreams. Go Broncos.” Interestingly, this move came after Travis Hunter’s generous heart stole the spotlight.

A few days ago, Deion Sanders stopped by Casey Middle School in Boulder to support a young boy who had been bullied. To lift his spirits, Sanders arranged a special trip for the boy and his family to visit the Colorado Buffs Champions Center, where they got to meet the players. But Deion didn’t stop there—he launched a fundraiser, encouraging his players and staff to pitch in with $5 or $10. Leading by example, Sanders kicked things off with a $1,000 donation. Then Travis Hunter took it even further, stepping up with an incredible $5,000 donation. Now that’s generosity!

Which Prospects should OSU target next?

Let Tony do the scouting, you just make the pick.

Well, the only thing he needs to do before that is ask the “wifey” Leanna whom he’s engaged to marry in May 2025. You can already expect a yes from the pretty lady. Gestures like this win fans’ hearts and support and truly go a long way in building strong loyalty to boost his Heisman hype.

Travis Hunter’s race for the Heisman

Travis Hunter has been phenomenal this season. Despite missing half of two games in a total of seven games, he still recorded an impressive 51 receptions for 604 yards and six touchdowns. On defense, he racked up 18 total tackles, three pass deflections, one forced fumble, and two interceptions. It’s no wonder he’s become a favorite for the Heisman Trophy, but this chance faced a setback with his injury. After suffering a shoulder injury in the Kansas State game, his Heisman odds sank with the ambiguity of his return. But he still held the top spot for some On3 experts who believe that Hunter can bounce back from this misfortune

Proving that he’s still fit and able, Travis Hunter made an appearance in the last game against Arizona and recorded two catches for 17 yards. As Deion Sanders said, “Travis wanted to play… He went out there and showed face and tried his best to do what he’s capable of doing.” It’s likely that we’ll be seeing a healthy Hunter back on the field in no time and just wait, there’s definitely going to be a comeback play that will blow the internet!
