Shedeur Sanders has some new offensive weapons this year. While senior receivers Jimmy Horn Jr. and LaJohntay Wester are still key players, some younger talents are also stepping up. The Buffaloes seem all set to tackle any challenges that come their way. well, their intense practice sessions are just speaking so.

This past Friday, the Buffaloes held their first open practice at the Denver school stadium, and it was a big event—selling out 5,000 tickets. Coloradoan’s Scott Procter was there, and he’s got some exciting takeaways from what he saw.

Speaking on the ‘Locked On Buffs’ podcast this Saturday, Procter couldn’t stop raving about the Buffs’ receiving corps. He started by praising former Vanderbilt wide receiver Will Shepherd, but soon shifted his focus to another standout, Terrell Timmons Jr. Procter noted that Timmons has “clearly earned the trust of Shedeur.” He also recalled one play in particular, saying, “The first play of 11-on-11 was a throw from Shedeur off a play action to Terrell Timmons on the sidelines. Terrell went up and made a lean grab on the sideline.” It’s clear this freshman deserves some attention.

Procter also pointed out that despite the presence of veteran receivers, Timmons was “one of the few targets for [Shedeur] yesterday.” He described Timmons as “explosive” and “really athletic.” Procter then dropped a fun fact that Terrell is the “cousin of Chicago Bears receiver Keenan Allen,” adding with a smile, “So obviously there’s some real talent running through that blood.”

While many are looking forward to the Caleb Williams and Keenan Allen combo on the Bears, it seems Timmons is set to make his own mark with Shedeur Sanders in CFB. Looks like we’re in for a Shedeur show this season!

Shedeur Sanders looks promising to deliver

Shedeur Sanders seems ready to make his final CFB season quite unforgettable. The Buffaloes’ offense is now looking stacked, not just with towering 6’6” O-linemen like Jordan Seaton and Payton Kirkland, but also with a strong receiving corps.

Back in June, Sanders was spotted in special practice sessions with receivers like LaJohntay Wester, Kalen Mathis, and Jimmy Horn Jr., perfecting their catches and routes. And let’s not forget two-way phenom Travis Hunter who was Shedeur’s go-to target last season. However, he didn’t participate in the recent open practice. Coach Prime quickly cleared up any concerns, saying, “Travis is good…we just wanted to give him some rest.” Looks like, with Hunter’s break, the spotlight shifted to newbies like Terrell Timmons Jr. and Will Shepherd. Well, whether it’s veterans or newcomers, Shedeur seems to continue his great plays.

Even Buffs coach Warren Sapp is confident in Sanders’ abilities this season. “Shedeur is going to be in real good shape to drive us up and down this field and get us a 4th quarter lead. And then we’re going to turn the dogs loose,” Sapp said in last week’s interview with Uncle Neely. Now, all this hype will be put to the test on August 29th when the Buffaloes face North Dakota.
