Beau Pribula, who spent 2 seasons as Drew Allar’s backup at PSU, has quickly settled into Eli Drinkwitz’s offense. He’s already thrown for 1,203 yards in just 5 games. The Tigers are undefeated. As the team prepares to host Alabama at Faurot Field, Pribula radiates confidence. “We just have to play a good game and stay true to ourselves, not try to do too much,” he said. Although Alabama enters the matchup with a 4-1 record, they are favored by 3 points. Pribula isn’t intimidated. Instead, he’s ready to put the Tigers under the spotlight.

On Friday, Beau Pribula spoke candidly during a pregame interview with Barstool Sports’ Jon Gruden. When Gruden asked about his excitement for the Alabama game, saying, “Are you excited? What’s your gut feeling right now?” Pribula didn’t hesitate and said confidently, “I’m excited.” And then when Gruden followed up by asking, “This will be the biggest game of your career, right?” Pribula remained unfazed. “I would say so, yeah,” he began. “You know, who wouldn’t want to play against the Alabama Crimson Tide?” Then, he reflected a bit more on the significance of this game.

“You know, you grew up thinking about games like this,” stated Pribula. And looking ahead to the challenge, he added, “So playing in the SEC, I can’t wait.” Pribula knows the potential of his rival. That’s why he said, “It’s a really good football team, very physical, great size… Really good football team, and that’s what you expect in the SEC.” The Bama defense has also been stout, giving up only 16 PPG on average. But Missouri will be a true test for them as they boast one of the most explosive offenses.
Missouri’s offense has allowed 547.6 total YPG. This stands for 4th in FBS. Now, the clash of a tough Tide defense against a high-flying Tigers offense sets the stage for a thrilling showdown. But Gruden couldn’t help but praise Pribula. Following the star QB’s stunning performance this season, he said, “What an impressive young man, excited to watch him play this weekend!” Last weekend against UMass, Pribula racked up 241 yards and one TD, leading the team to a 42-6 victory. To cap it off, through five games, he has thrown nine TDs. As Pribula’s stock rises, the star QB has made an announcement about his future.

Missouri insider Michael Stamps reported that when Jon Gruden asked Pribula if he plans to return for another season, the QB didn’t hesitate. He said, “Yep. I’d say so.” Honestly, securing a talent like Pribula is a huge win for the Tigers. Beyond his passing stats, Pribula’s athleticism is turning heads. He’s averaging 8.3 yards per pass attempt, ranking 38th nationally. And his playmaking ability is keeping defenses on high alert. That’s why Drinkwitz has been full of praise.
“Been really proud of the way Beau’s attacking being the quarterback here,” he said. “That dude has done a really good job creating space, taking space when he needs to, and creating plays with his legs.” Now, Missouri fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing their star QB will be back next season. But the challenge doesn’t stop there. Let’s see how they perform against Alabama.
