Over UNC’s bye week, Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson made a quick sideline trip to Nantucket, Massachusetts. The couple already has a little cottage there, which they call their second home. The picturesque Sconset seaside cottage, with its charming wooden walls, built-in bookshelves, and cozy stone fireplace, has been on and off the market this year. But the trip wasn’t just for relaxation; they were also busy closing the chapter on one of their prized properties.

The couple’s 1,500-square-foot Sconset cottage, originally purchased for $2.4M in 2014, hit the market at $3.9M this year. The charming property features wooden walls, built-in bookshelves, diamond-mullioned windows, and a vaulted living room with a stone fireplace, all set on a 4,800-square-foot lot. After a promising buyer fell through, Belichick quickly relisted the home and found another buyer almost immediately.

The cottage comes with two full bathrooms and a half bath. Down in the basement, you’ll find red brick floors running through the family room, another full bath, the laundry area, and a mudroom. It’s almost pretty unusual that a property like this is taking time to sell. And the plus point? The Nantucket location is just mesmerizing, and even Belichick himself echoed this feeling. “At the end of every one of those years I was here,” Belichick told the magazine. “Nantucket has always been a constant.”

Belichick expanded his Nantucket holdings in 2024, picking up a bigger Fair Road property for $4.8 million, according to public records. The new home sits on the bayside, though it doesn’t have direct waterfront access. Meanwhile, UNC is back in action on October 4 against a struggling Clemson squad. For now, Belichick and Hudson enjoyed a rare Saturday completely off the field.

But while the weekend was about recharging, it stirred up a media frenzy. Jason Whitlock, a loud voice among skeptics, didn’t hold back, arguing that Belichick’s personal life, especially his high-profile relationship with the young Hudson, was overshadowing his coaching responsibilities. Despite the noise, this getaway reveals the complex balancing act for Belichick and Hudson. As they are just trying to find some peace from the same gossip and rumors.
