Home/College Football

Well, 10.5 million is way bigger than 1.5 million, right? No brainer! And let’s be real, NIL is totally shaking things up in college football. Bryce Underwood was all set to go to LSU, but then he flipped to Michigan. Everyone was whispering that he was just chasing the bag, you know? Reports say LSU offered him a measly 1.5 million, while Michigan dropped a bomb with a 10.5 million NIL deal. If money was the main motivator, who can blame him? But people were roasting him online for that move. Now, the five-star quarterback has spoken out and silenced all the haters.

In an X post, Underwood shared a video clip with the caption, “It is what it is,” followed by three words: “Business is Business.” It makes perfect sense in the current CFB-NIL period. “I’d say that as far as like the resources I will have. The education I will end up getting. The legacy I will build at home. You know? It’s really nothing much that somebody can show or say if they don’t know the full situation,” the athlete added. It justified the caption and his slapping message to critics. In addition, it just shows that the top prospect didn’t take those criticisms seriously. And he is aware that truth is truth regardless of circumstances.

That being said, everyone was kinda expecting Underwood to flip, but it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. There was a lot of behind-the-scenes maneuvering to make it happen. Underwood got grilled about why he chose the Tigers over the Wolverines in the first place. Underwood flat-out said Michigan’s lack of QB development made him say no. But to persuade Underwood to stay at home, HC Sherrone Moore led the charge, even though it was obviously an uphill struggle.

In the end, Michigan managed to present Underwood with an offer that he was unable to reject. NIL was undoubtedly a component in that decision-making process, but it’s also evident that Underwood was influenced by a variety of things when he decided to go. Everyone’s giving Moore all the credit for this flip, but CBS reporter Matt Zenitz says Underwood also built a strong connection with Tom Brady, the GOAT himself. That definitely played a role too. But as soon as Bryce Underwood is on the field, it looks uncertain what the future will hold for Michigan football’s new quarterback.

For Michigan, Davis Warren’s hold on the starting position has long appeared precarious. On one occasion, he lost his spot to not one but two quarterbacks. Following his October return to the starting position, observers still considered the former walk-on a placeholder for the next quarterback.

It used to be Jadyn Davis, a true freshman who arrived on campus with great excitement in January of last year. But played just one snap. It is currently believed that Bryce Underwood, a new recruit and the top prospect in the country’s 2025 class, is the one. He threw for 2,762 yards and a ridiculous 37 touchdowns this year, leading his Belleville HS to an undefeated season for the first time ever.

Underwood trained as a non-contact competitor for the very first time as a Wolverine on Thursday. He appeared as the most recent rescuer of Warren’s punchless passing approach. “The way he came in versus the way I came in couldn’t have been any more different,” Warren remarked.

It suggests that Underwood has a great chance in the class of 2025. It’s safe to say that Underwood has been the talk of the county ever since the former Belleville star broke his vow to LSU in late November. Now, let’s witness what the top athlete can do with Moore’s Michigan.
