Clemson’s 2025 campaign is off to a great start, topping CBS Sports’ post-ACC power rankings. Even Dabo Swinney‘s signal caller, Cade Klubnik, isn’t just stirring the pot, but he’s stealing the spotlight, attracting significant NFL scout attention. Why not? Klubnik boasts exceptional pocket presence, lightning-quick reads, and a strong arm, all qualities that translate to NFL success. He’s also enhancing his skills under the tutelage of QB guru Jordan Palmer, who’s worked with stars like Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes. But in between all the grind, how can Cade pull out all the stops to make his lady love, Macey Matthews, feel special on her big day?

Well, both Cade Klubnik and Macey Matthews have been in love since their high school days and began their relationship in 2019. And Macey has always shown her support towards Klubnik’s career; it’s either showing up on the sidelines during his important matchups or celebrating his achievements—she never misses a beat. Macey’s also very proud of Cade and the way he carries himself. “Cade has always had a natural gift for the game, but I truly believe that it is his trust and identity in the Lord and his passion to be better every day that led him to where he is now.”

But this time it’s Cade Klubnik who is the one turning heads off the field and making Macey feel special with a beautiful birthday Instagram story with a collage of six sweet photos, each packed with memories. He even wrote a heartfelt note that read, “Happy 22nd Birthday to my best friend on planet Earth. I love you so much.” Because what’s better than this when your girlfriend is also your best friend? And their connection goes way back to their middle school days. Crazy right? Talking about Cade’s journey, Macey mentioned how he was resilient towards his ultimate goal.

“It is pretty funny to think that I was a cheerleader at his very first middle school game, so I have got to see him grow as a player throughout the majority of his career. We have a text from sixth grade where Cade told me that he wanted to play varsity football just like his brother and maybe have the opportunity to play in college, which is really cool to look back on now that we are in our senior year.” Macey is the one who saw him transition his dreams to reality. Well, for Cade, Macey’s presence in his life is one of the crucial factors in his growth as a person and a player.

“It has helped me so much to just have someone that supports you through all your ups and downs, whether state championships or the loss of a friend. She has been there for me every step of the way and has just always been an amazing influence on how to handle situations through Christ,” Cade said. So, she is sure a friend/girlfriend in need and indeed. Now, just so you know, the couple is not just about supporting each other’s big moment, but they are also in for some wild adventures. And their recent summer getaway says it all.

So, Klubnik and Macey went for a trip to Lake Austin a few days back, and Klubnik even posted pictures of them wakeboarding on his Instagram story. Even Matthews also joined in the fun, posting a playful Instagram story with a candid snap of Cade relaxing shirtless on a boat. But here comes the real off-field grind for Cade Klubnik as reality hits him faster than a lightning bolt.

Cade Klubnik’s NFL future gets a push

Clemson’s Cade Klubnik exploded onto the scene in 2024, silencing doubters who questioned his high school potential. He completed 63.4% of his passes for 3,639 yards, 36 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. Adding 463 rushing yards and seven more touchdowns, Klubnik proved a potent dual threat. Already generating Heisman buzz for 2025, a strong season could solidify his status as a potential top-ten NFL Draft pick in 2026. Best part? And CBS Sports analyst Chris Trapasso wasted no time in predicting Cade Klubnik’s NFL destination. Yes, that’s right. Chris thinks that Cade might land with the Los Angeles Rams in the first round of the 2026 draft. Trapasso also explained his estimation and said:

“The Rams secured a second first-round pick as part of their trade with the Falcons, who moved back into the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft to select James Pearce Jr. at No. 26 overall. And that pick is ultimately used on what everyone expects near the end of the Matthew Stafford era—a quarterback. Like Stafford, Klubnik was a monster recruit who possesses elite-level arm talent for Sean McVay to mold in Los Angeles.”

Joining the Rams would be a perfect scenario for Klubnik. While Stafford could remain for a year or two beyond 2025, the Clemson star would likely find a starting position swiftly. But Klubnik needs a stellar 2025 season to justify the hype, prove his potential, and boost his 2026 draft stock. Now, let’s wait and see if that happens this season or not!
