Emotions went rampage when Colorado lost to Nebraska 28-10. Both Deion Sanders and Shedeur Sanders said some words that raised eyebrows. The Buffs’ QB, who was sacked five times, expressed his frustration on the O-line, saying, “I wasn’t protected like I needed to be. The O-line just didn’t give me the time to make plays.

Following the temper flares, Deion Sanders made a U-turn to adjust his comments on the offensive unit saying, “I feel like we got the right guys. You may see us shake something up a little bit. Phil Loadholt is a wonderful offensive line coach.” But one CFB insider became the voice of many fans as he expressed his concerns on Colorado’s O-line.

Bruce Feldman made an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show uploaded on YouTube on September 11. In his discussion, he raised concerns about Deion Sanders’ Buffs saying that “they are so bad on the O-line.” He also called out Deion Sanders’ decision to appoint Phil Loadholt as the O-line coach who had no prior experience in the position. Pointing out the mistakes, Feldman said, “That’s a big challenge when you’re trying to build an offensive line. [It] was horrible last year and there’s a lot of new guys in it. You’re starting a talented but still a true freshman at one of the tackles.”

In July, Deion Sanders stated that his confidence from the season comes from his revamped O-line as he said, “When I see the offensive line and the way they train, way they work, the way they go about their job.” Still, the Nebraska upset exposed the gaps that Deion Sanders needs to fill for their O-line. This brings us back to the line that vowed to protect Shedeur.

Colorado’s offense is in hot water

This season, Deion Sanders assigned a new O-line coach and 11 newcomers where five of them are starters, including true freshman tackle Jordan Seaton. But despite the hope that it can rewrite last season’s sad ending, the results are looking unfortunately similar. Nebraska recorded six sacks and 10 QB hurries, allowing only 16 rushing yards.

Deion Sanders didn’t coat his words with sugar after the game. He said of the O-line, “Protections were a problem. Trying to be polite and say it, because I can say the same thing you’re thinking, but if I said, you would say I’m throwing my guys under the bus. I’m not doing that whatsoever. Protections were a problem.” The Buffs may have to revamp their style and thought process before they meet Colorado State for the Rocky Mountain Showdown on September 14.
