To think that this is the same team standing at the last spot on PAC 12 the previous year is wild. Deion Sanders has done some voodoo and changed the tides for the Buffs. The Rams and the Baylor games are perfect examples that Deion Sanders can learn from his mistakes, much like Tony Stark. Going into Kansas, everything Deion has learned so far will be put to the test. Can this game finally make Buffs the top dog on the Big 12 ladder?

Well, J.D. PicKell thinks so. On the latest episode of On3, PicKell points out that the Wildcats game will be the final test for Deion Sanders and Co. “Kansas State going to Colorado. Both these teams are off a by (week). Kansas State is a 5.5-point favorite on the road, but y’all, this is going to be one that’s a lot of fun. I did not think this game would be as important as it is now,” PicKell noted. The Buffs currently stand in the second spot in the Big 12. If Deion Sanders manages to grab the dub against the Wildcats, then it will instantly push the team to the No. 1 spot.

However, you gotta keep in mind that the Wildcats ain’t gonna make it easy. This is the same team that gave a powerhouse like the Bulldogs a run for their money. Kirby Smart and his boys had a close call with a 13-12 win. Coming off of the by-week, the Wildcats will be ready to take back the crown.

Still, Coach Prime ain’t gonna shy away from giving them a good fight. Against UCF, we saw clearly what this team is capable of. Imagine making a run-heavy team like the Knights sweat crazy. Deion Sanders and his boys managed to cripple the entire offense of UCF and got the dub.

Travis Hunter has been on point with his plays and Shedeur Sanders is getting the perfect protection in the pocket. This has allowed the Buffs’ offense to create considerable pressure on their opponents. Baylor was a close call. However, Knights was the full evidence of what the boys can do when they have their heads in the game. Still, the 2 main things that are going to help the Buffs grab the win would be the all-new offensive changes and what Robert Livingston has done with the defense.

Deion Sanders’ secret ingredients

Back on October 3, Joel Klatt was the first one to point out what Deion had done with the entire offense to give Shedeur a much-needed boost. “The diversity of the Run game and the ability to put the linebackers in Conflict made Colorado’s offense completely different,” Klatt mentioned. This entire thing was possible because Coach Prime moved away from their classic ’10 personnel’ formation to an ’11 personnel’ one.

Now what are these you might ask? See, the only change Deion has made, which was visible during the Knights’ game, was put in a TE on the offensive line. This has allowed Shedeur to have ample protection on the edges. Shedeur Sanders now has a lot more time when it comes down to making decisions from a collapsing pocket.

That ain’t all. Robert Livingston has played a huge role in changing up the Buffs defense. A team that used to allow 35 or more points is now barely allowing 30. That’s a big change. Against the Knights, the defense completely blocked out QB KJ Jefferson and RB RJ Harvey. However, what do you think would happen when the Buffs go up against the Wildcats? Can Deion Sanders keep up the momentum?
