Imagine getting a pat on the back from your biggest hater. That’s kind of what Deion Sanders must be feeling after his team beat Arizona. From labeling his Buffs team “irrelevant” to other negative comments, Paul Finebaum has always been a thorn in his side. But after this win, Finebaum seems to have done a 180. It’s like night and day! It’s gotta feel pretty good to prove him wrong.

On a recent episode of ESPN College Football, Paul Finebaum praised the Buffs’ dominant 34-7 victory over Arizona, which marked their third consecutive double-digit win. He noted that he had been critical of Deion Sanders in the past, but now believes that the Buffs’ success can be attributed to his leadership. He also jokingly took partial credit for that, saying, “I take all the credit for that, Matt. I mean, I was all over him about, you know, winning some games. I’m kidding, of course. But this is what should be going on. We should be appreciating and complimenting Deion Sanders for what he does on the field, not for the show.”

Further in the show, Paul also appreciated Deion Sanders’s overall take on two-way star Travis Hunter’s injury and the way he handled the whole situation, saying, “I give him major credit for dealing with injuries in the Travis Hunter situation, his own two sons, both of whom have been banged up and still going out and convincingly winning games. That’s hard to do.”

Well, that’s a straight fact. Hands down, Coach Prime has been really handy in dealing with teams’ roller coaster performance or injury situations, even though they managed to get an impressive score. The team is just 1 game away from getting bowl eligibility, and Coach Prime deserves all the appreciation. However, this is not the only instance when Finebaum has taken Sanders in this season.

Paul Finebaum praising Deion Sanders

Well, this season is all about unexpected events taking place. No wonder Paul’s praise towards Coach Prime is also coming off as his piousness. However, this is not the first time Paul Finebaum acknowledged Deion Sanders’ efforts towards his team. A few weeks back when the Buffs had a remarkable victory of 21-48 against the UCF Knights, Finebaum appreciated their gameplay, saying, “Of all the schools that impressed me the most on (Sept. 28), it was Colorado. They went someplace I thought would be incredibly difficult, and they won in dominating fashion.” It’s hard to believe, but this season Finebaum looks quite convinced with Sanders’s coaching styles and Buffs’ gameplay.

However, his words could change the fact that Paul Finebaum has been very critical of Deion Sanders’ every move. Even Sanders feels the same, as even after Paul’s admiration, Coach Prime is not ready to call off the rift. In an interview, Sanders mentioned that whatever the media people are saying, it’s all for clicks, and he is not the one who gets affected by any of these sayings. “You got to understand what these gentlemen understand. If you mention us, you get clicks. You get known.” Well, let’s see if Paul Finebaum’s recent kind words can sway Deion Sanders’ opinion.
