Well, head coach Steve Sarkisian can proudly flex after week 13. 9-1! The record has improved their college playoff rankings after all, and now they are sitting at the No. 3 position. Only the Bulldogs have defeated them this season and since then the Longhorns have not looked back and dominated all four opponents. On Saturday, they defeated Kentucky 31-14 but will they maintain their winning streak?

The college football world is going to witness highly anticipated games this coming week. Longhorns are all to play against rival Texas A&M at Kyle Filed after 13 years. Although the Longhorns are looking strong on both sides, the Aggies will surely not hand over the victory easily. Blake Ruffino, co-host of the Ruffin & Joe show, has predicted something unpleasant. He strongly believes that Aggies will give tough competition to Texas and shared, I am going to take A&M to win here, and here’s why: I think that they in that place at night, in this situation, they’re going to bounce back and overcome now.”

The game holds lots of importance for Aggies, as it is a do-or-die game for them. Mike Elko cannot afford to lose because if they win, they will be out of the playoffs. Yes! But in the past few games, we have seen that they struggled to run with the ball. Blake highlighted the same but he still believes that they will make it through.I just think that that fund seven gets after whatever quarterback is going to be there. I don’t think A and M are going to Texas. Gonna be able to run the ball on them like they want to. Now, can they get some things in the secondary on A & M? Because Peyton Thorne did last week, sure, okay, LaNorris Sellers did. Sure, they can. There’s going to be moments and times where they need to throw the ball to run the football, and I don’t know if they’re going to be able to do it. Here’s the second thing. I like A and M because they’re the more physical team. I say this all the time too. I don’t like a team going on the road against another team who’s a dog in a corner, and A and M are a dog in a corner. They got nothing to lose here.”

See, Steve is not going to give up so easily; he knows the importance of the game and he has highlighted the same: “The game is the game as far as what are we trying to accomplish to win that game to get to the SEC Championship Game? But I’m not naive to know the rivalry is the rivalry and what this game means to the entire state of Texas and households being divided Thanksgiving weekend.” According to the critics, their defeat over the top-25 team Bulldogs can put them in hot water. Talking about the Aggies, they will enter the game with victories over top teams like Missouri and LSU. The team that wins on Saturday will play next against the Bulldogs. But who is winning? Till then, let’s see what head coach Steve Sarkisian thinks about the rivalry.

We’ll be ready: Steve Sarkisian

The college playoffs are around the corner and only a victory can save the Aggies. But it looks like the opposing head coach is all set, although Steve pointed out that the rivalry is real; he is confident; he takes pride in his team; and he is confident with their preparation. On3 reported his statement, “We’ll be ready. I’m going to leave it at that,” he added. “I’m not a big get-out-of-routine guy. So our normal routine will be our routine. We’ll get in there Friday, and we’ll be ready to play Saturday.”

So, that means they are not doing anything extra. Do they have to? Not really, because if they lose, they still have hopes to enter the payoffs. It is not a big game just for the team but for Steve as well, as he will guide Texas against the Aggies for the first time. The last time both teams played each other was in 2011. Now that the Aggies have joined the SEC, the rivalry is back!
