The youngest daughter of Lane Kiffin had a fashionable day out at Ole Miss vs Kentucky at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium with the girls. Unfortunately, the game didn’t go in their favor as Lane Kiffin and the Rebels lost 20-17 to Kentucky, their first SEC opponent for the season.

While Ole Miss’ first season loss weighs heavy on everyone, Presley Kiffin appears like a ray of sunshine with her Instagram post on September 29. Despite being a USC volleyball player, she is a loyal supporter of her father’s program. Posting herself and her friends at the game, she captioned her post with high confidence, “We’ll get em next time.”

For Lane Kiffin, this is a hard blow as it gave his undefeated program their first blemish after four dominant victories. Following the game, Lane Kiffin labeled it as “beyond disappointing.” He said, “It’s a disappointing day. The game comes down at the end with us having a chance to win in every phase and we didn’t do it. Got to give credit to Stoops.”

The Rebels entered the game as a 15 ½-point favorite before the Wildcats broke their seven winning streaks. But the No. 12 Ole Miss is not the only highly-ranked team to struggle against the Wildcats this season. Kirby Smart and No. 2 Georgia nearly fell to Kentucky in their narrow 13-12 victory in Week 3. So, how did Kentucky beat Ole Miss? Is it talent or luck?

A fumble recovery seals Kentucky’s victory over Ole Miss

Call it talent or luck, but it was Kentucky’s fumble recovery in the end zone that led to their unforeseen victory over Lane Kiffin and the Rebels. Kentucky Josh Kattus recovered a fumble by QB Gavin Wimsatt near the goal line. The Wildcats gained 63 yards after converting a 4th and 7 pass leading to Ole Miss’ field goal attempt that hooked left. Ouch!

As Rebels kicker Caden Davis missed a 48-yard field goal attempt, Kentucky took the lead to tie the final score. This marks their first big win against a highly ranked team since 1977 when they defeated No. 4 Penn State. As for the Rebels, they’ll have to adjust themselves for October as they’ll meet more competitive opponents like No. 21 Oklahoma and No. 2 Georgia. Lane Kiffin, meanwhile, faces more pressure with a resurfacing grudge after the loss.
