Is Deion Sanders playing the victim card yet again? Or is it someone hating again? After Coach Prime suggested that Travis Hunter’s Heisman hopes could be impacted by voter bias, Jason Whitlock didn’t hold back. The Longtime Deion Sanders’ critic took a wild shot. Accusing Sanders of using Hunter’s Heisman race to further his narrative. This quid pro quo is stirring up more controversy in the already heated debate about Sanders’ coaching style and the Colorado Buffaloes’ success.

Deion Sanders is catching hatred after implying Travis Hunter’s Heisman bid might fall short because of voters’ hate for him. He made a bold statement, “I ain’t gonna sit up here and give no message to no Heisman voters who is undecided, if they can’t, they can’t see… don’t allow their hatred for me to interfere with our kids success.” But Jason Whitlock, a certified Deion Sanders hater wasn’t having it all, Whitlock clapped back to his words, “ This is what I don’t like about Deion Sanders… If Trais doesn’t win the Heisman trophy, It’s because of your hatred of me.., Deion give it a break.” The back-and-forth has folks talking, with Whitlock calling out Coach Prime for playing the victim card once again.

Deion Sanders’ pride for his players has always been visible. But sometimes it feels like the coach’s flair for the dramatics gets the best of him. That’s why the critics like Jason Whitlock go after Deion Sanders punctually. They feel Deion Sanders takes all the credit and makes everything about him. After hearing blackclash, Deion doubled down, telling the critics, “They got to stop that, y’all got to stop some of y’all like that, y’all got to stop that man, get the kids what they deserve man. I don’t had my turn, you had. Well I played 14 years, 14 years to hate me now let it go.” It’s that fiery passion and confidence that makes him who he is today. But when it comes to the Heisman race, some are wondering if Deion’s frustration is starting to cloud the bigger picture. Is it even about Travis Hunter, or is it just another way for Coach Prime to claim the spotlight and add fuel to his never-ending feud with the critics?

Deion Sanders vs. Jason Whitlock Feud

Jason Whitlock and Deion Sanders have never seen eye to eye, and their disagreement has only gotten more heated as Colorado Buffaloes’ football rises in the ranking. Whitlock, a notorious Deion detractor, has never credited Sanders for his success but is very quick to criticize whenever Deion moves an inch. Whitlock has repeatedly questioned the legitimacy of Sanders’ success. He claims that the Buffaloes’ impressive turnaround isn’t because of Sanders’ coaching masterclass. But rather because of the weaker competition in the Big 12.

But Whitlock doesn’t stop there. He’s been very vocal about what he perceives as Sanders’ controversial coaching regime. The “Prime Time” is accused of being a bully—especially when  it comes to removing underperforming players from the team. Whitlock has even gone as far as calling Sanders a “clown,” on the internet, claiming that Colorado’s wins aren’t because of great coaching. But because the opposition—like Baylor—just choked. With all this drama, it’s no surprise that Whitlock labeled Sanders’ program as “corrupt,” a wild accusation. Calling into question whether Deion’s flashy persona actually sustains a program to stay on top in the long run.
