Deion Sanders’s Colorado ended the season on a similar note to how their entire campaign unfolded. The Buffs failed to mount a challenge against Kentucky in Week 14 as they were handed an embarrassing 14-44 loss. While there were obvious problems visible on both sides of the ball, Coach Prime identified another reason behind his team’s disappointing 3-9 campaign.

“When a guy leaves a program that selected him, picked him, or got him at the portal. He leaves for a multitude of reasons. The number one reason people leave is money. It’s not a disdain for staff or disdain for players. It’s money. Let’s just be honest, man. Let’s stop sugarcoating this foolishness, man,” Deion Sanders said.

Colorado suffered massively after losing some big-name and impactful players to the transfer portal earlier this year. Combine it with the loss of Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter to the NFL, and the disaster was in the making way before the season started.
