Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter would’ve hoped this Christmas brought about more reason for joy. Begrudgingly, they and the Colorado Buffaloes are not part of the footballing December festivities that have ensued. Colorado lost out on a CFP berth while being in the reckoning down the stretch. With him moving onto the NFL next year, Travis’ unprecedented collegiate career will perennially miss the sheen of a postseason run. Alas, 2024 was still a blessed year for the tandem, and their actions are putting this into perspective.

If there’s one thing consistent about the eccentric Deion Sanders, it’s that he’s a man of his faith. So it’s no surprise he’s a huge proponent of being more generous and giving during this time of year. He took to his X account to leverage some discernment. “It’s a day before Christmas & let’s make certain that u ain’t challenged about giving, receiving or the stress of Christmas. The 25th ain’t about the accumulation of Gifts or the level of gifts u give or receive it’s about Christ Hope, Love & Joy. Thats Christmas.” he wrote. Coach Prime shall be delighted to know his protege is out there relieving some stress amidst those not as fortunate.

Travis Hunter and his fiancee, Leanna Lenee, have fully embodied the Christmas spirit. The couple recently announced they’ll be buying gifts for 5 families around the Boulder area who are struggling with the means to do so themselves. This was an attempt to give back to the community as Travis leaves Colorado. A flurry of entries came in via Instagram, which people explaining why they’re deserving of the help on offer. After finalizing 5 families, Travis and Leanna bestowed some very tangible love upon them. Just an overall awesome rendition of why Christmas is a special time.

The couple went down to the local Walmart and bought a plethora of toys, clothes and shoes to give out.  One family even received a brand new Ps5. Since this foray of seeking families on Instagram was successful, after this ordeal Travis Hunter stated “We got a bunch and we had so much fun doing this. Now we’re gonna pick five more people from our TikTok comments.”

Speaking of Instagram, Travis has since deleted his account on the platform. This is in light of the controversy that has enveloped his and Leanna’s relationship. The sanctity of his private life has been disrupted by the social media sphere. Deion will be at the forefront of the faction that’s hoping this joyous period permeates into their relationship.

The end of the year puts into perspective Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter’s glorious 2024

3 years ago, Travis and Deion Sanders mutually began causing a seismic shift in the CFB paradigm. Present-day Travis Hunter’s tryst with going from prodigy to proven is complete. His Heisman triumph lends him the monicker of the best player in football. A lot of prejudice and a lot of notions, both fair and fallacious, were thwarted on that podium in New York.

The masses were adamant Travis was making a lapse in judgement in rejecting FSU to follow Coach Prime to Jackson State.. This subversion of conventional wisdom has paved the way for Travis’ disposition at the top rung of the football ladder. In many ways, his Heisman is a vindication of that potentially career-altering decision. Travis has outwardly stated Deion “changed his life”.

This sort of perspective is particularly hard-hitting during Christmas time. The two prepare for a curtain call on the year as well as their relationship as player-coach. There’s one last hoorah left, though, in the Alamo Bowl. With the controversy mentioned above inadvertently weighing on his young shoulders, Travis Hunter will seek to do what he’s done all year. Thwart negativity off-field with his play on it.
