Shelomi Sanders has always found a supporter in her mother Pilar Sanders. When Shelomi transferred out of Colorado to Alabama A&M against the wishes of his father, Pilar backed her decision, even confronting her ex-husband over his criticism of their daughter. She also gave Shelomi a shoutout when she announced her goals for the new year. Now, as she has done with both her sons, Pilar turned up in style to cheer for her daughter during a game.

Lately, Pilar has been a busy mother. She showed up to Colorado football’s Senior Day to show her support for Shilo and Shedeur for their final game in Boulder and then also traveled to San Antonio for their bowl game. Well, this time around she arrived in Huntsville, Alabama for the Alabama A&M’s game against Texas Southern and it was her show-stopping game-day fit that stole the spotlight.

Pilar Sanders shared a video on Insta captioned, “Game Fit ✔️.” Rocking a custom jacket with Alabama A&M colors and her daughter’s No. 22 on a sleek t-shirt, Pilar styled it with an all-black fit complete with chic black heels and a matching purse.

The most fascinating aspect of that game-day outfit was that Coach Prime’s mother, Connie, gave her the big thumbs up. She liked Pilar’s IG post and gave the outfit her seal of approval! For Shelomi, her mother’s presence shines as a symbol of love and unwavering support, fueling her drive to success.

But, unfortunately, Shelomi’s Ala. A&M was beaten by the Tigers 75-65. Despite having little playing time throughout this matchup, she only managed to score one point for her team. The youngest of Coach Prime’s daughters has averaged 1.5 points in her first season with the program. She recorded a career-high 14 points in her HBCU return against Oakwood.

After beginning her career alongside her brothers at Jackson State, Shelomi followed them to Boulder along with their father. However, a year later, she moved on from the Buffs in April 2024, much to the disappointment of Coach Prime.

Deion Sanders said it was “stupid” for his daughter to enter the transfer portal. Speaking to DNVR, he said, “You don’t enter the portal. You get a team before you enter the portal. You kinda get a team before you enter the portal. You know, that’s what I would advise a child. And I know, “Well it’s illegal…” C’mon, man.”  He also criticized her for going against the family values.

“You have to understand. I am a real father; I am a real man and a real dad. Where I come from and historically, kids follow their parents. When do parents start following their kids? That doesn’t work in my book. That does not work where I am from. I am the leader of the family,” he said. However, Pilar not only showed her support for Shelomi but also lashed out at Deion.

“You have the courage, confidence, strength, and character to go anywhere, the drive to be the best and WIN. So happy you’re not settling, It’s your life to live, so live it with love, passion, adventure and everything you’ve got!” she wrote on IG about her daughter’s move before uploading a video addressing her ex-husband’s comments.

She said Deion’s comment was “disturbing on all fronts,” given how the family has supported him throughout his career. She alleged that the transfer was giving Shelomi a fair opportunity to be recruited for a college basketball team, which she didn’t get coming out of high school.

Meanwhile, fans were quick to take to the comments section of Pilar’s post and showered her with love.

Due to her previous relationship with Deion, Pilar, the ex-wife of an NFL star and the HC of the Buffs, has been the subject of much public scrutiny. Pilar has also spoken out against the 2013 Texas jury’s ruling, which gave Deion joint custody of their daughter and sole custody of their two kids. Despite the fallout of their relationship, Pilar stands tall as a devoted mother, giving unwavering love and equal support to each of her children, proving she deserves nothing but respect.

Shedeur, a quarterback, and Shilo, a defensive back, are both the Buffs players and are headed to the NFL draft for the next phase of their careers. At the start of the year, Shelomi posted a video of working out in the gym on Instagram with the caption, “Start the New Year off right with the new Running Hot collection from @savagexfenty #savagexambassador #FITTOBEYOU” In the video, she also shared plans of fitting more stretching and gym work and yoga into her schedule as she looks to keep fit.
