Deion Sanders is going the extra mile for his Buffs! We mean not just with intense practices or locker room pep talks. He’s focused on shaping his players for the NFL and bringing in some heavy hitters to help.

On August 20, Prime Time called on his old Atlanta Falcons teammate from the ’90s, Louis Riddick, to share some wisdom with the team. And he has not just one but three wisdoms to share!
Riddick, a former NFL safety, spoke to the Buffs players via video. He didn’t waste time discussing the Big 12 or game strategies; he went straight to the big picture: the NFL. “There are three things people in the NFL are looking for when it comes to players,” Riddick said. “They’re looking for people that are credible, that can be trusted, and that are obviously very, very competent.” He again stressed how NFL scouts pay close attention to players’ skill levels and trustworthiness.

But that’s not all. Riddick highlighted a third crucial factor: “And lastly, and maybe even most importantly, can they positively impact other people’s ability to perform at a real high level?” Riddick then spoke of the importance of accountability, urging each player to handle their business in the facility and when they’re away from it. In short, he wants every Buff to be the best representative of their football program.
Riddick then wrapped up his talk with a blunt warning: “It’s brutal in the NFL; you better be ready.” These tips are on point for the Buffs, especially with NFL scouts watching their every move.

Deion Sanders gets scouting spotlight
Deion Sanders & Co. are right on track. The Buffs kicked off their fall practice this August, generating much buzz. Clips from their super-intense practices have been blowing up online, giving everyone hope that their 4-8 season is history. They had an open practice session last week to make things even cooler. Well, it’s something you see little in college football, where anyone could come to watch them play. People in Boulder and others got to watch the team in action. The media also loves how much better they’ve gotten, especially at wide receiver. But it’s not just fans and press taking notice—NFL scouts are paying close attention, too.
Some have been spotted at the Buffs’ practice facility recently. On August 19, New York Jets college scout Jon Carr was seen talking with Shedeur Sanders and Deion Sanders at practice. This led to speculation, with Unapologetically Buffs reposting the news and asking, “Could New York be a landing spot for Shedeur going into the NFL?” And it’s not just one scout focused on one player. On August 20, Jaki Truth shared a clip, “NFL Scouts at every practice,” showing a handful of scouts observing the team. The post highlighted, “This is the environment that @DeionSanders has created in Boulder. This is the opportunity for the players to prove they belong in the league.”

Stars like Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders are leading NFL draft talks. But it looks like more Buffs might soon be in the conversation in the coming days.
