Shedeur Sanders and Colorado faced a cold welcome which wasn’t unexpected as they arrived at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins. But we can’t blame them; the Rocky Mountain Showdown is getting more intense each year. And the pregame atmosphere is a testament to it.

Colorado’s superiority last season rubbed the Rams fans the wrong way. So, the CSU fanbase didn’t go easy on the Buffs as they hurled all kinds of demotivating words and gestures at them. Deion Sanders Jr. who serves as the person behind the camera for the Buffs exposed the atmosphere on the field and dropped a 4-word response.

Ahead of their big showdown on September 15, Deion Sanders Jr. recorded the happenings on the stands in an IG upload on welloffforever. As the video depicts, the Buffs didn’t exactly get a warm welcome as the crowd booed at their arrival, raising banners with words like “Will Shedeur leave before I do?” and “Stomp the Buffs” and hurling bad words and gestures towards them. But brushing aside the distractions, Deion Sanders Jr. captioned, “It’s almost that time.”

The Rocky Mountain Showdown got a little spicier after Deion Sanders came to Boulder last season. And it looks like CSU hasn’t forgotten how Shedeur Sanders and his team beat them in a thrilling double-overtime win to become the most-watched CFB game of the season. Can Shedeur zip the unruly crowd with another spectacular performance to mirror last season?

Who will win the Colorado vs CSU showdown?

While fans want to place their faith in the Buffs, things aren’t the same as last season as seen from Colorado’s last game against a team they beat last year. They fell in a humiliating 28-10 defeat at the hands of Nebraska in Week 2 after their incredible season opener against FCS powerhouse NDSU. Besides, key players like Shilo Sanders and Chidozie Nwankwo are sidelined with injuries for the Rocky Mountain Showdown.

Like Colorado, CSU is also 1-1 into the season recovering in Week 2 after a blowout 52-0 loss against Texas in their season opener. They also have a home-field advantage as they’re playing at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins for the first time since 1996. If you think about last year, they nearly managed to pull an upset over Colorado at Folsom Field despite being 28-point underdogs. In a few minutes, action will kick off and we’ll get our answers.
