The CFB recruiting battle never gets a rest! Now it doesn’t even matter if a player has locked in his commitment with a program. Flipping has become a real thing and Colorado is no stranger to that. Deion Sanders is looking beyond the 2025 class as far as the QB room is concerned. After flipping Julian Lewis from USC, the Buffs might be on the verge of another major recruiting heist. And this time, Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers have reason to sweat.

Colorado’s offensive firepower speaks for itself as Steve Wiltfong pointed out in a new March 7 episode of On3 Recruits. Speaking on the 2026 recruiting trial, he said, “They got a lot to sell to these quarterbacks, had the nation’s No. 6 passing offense last year, fifth in passing efficiency, Shedeur Sanders hoping to hear his name called in the first round of the NFL Draft.” This gives Deion Sanders a prime selling point for top-tier QBs. The Buffs have their eyes on four QBs in the 2026 class, and two of them are already committed elsewhere including Clemson commit Tait Reynolds

Colorado gives a scare to Dabo Swinney with their pursuit of their 4-star dual-threat commit Tait Reynolds from Queen Creek, Arizona. The 6’2, 210-pounder ran for 1,426 yards and 19 TDs while throwing for 2,238 yards and 22 scores. This kid can run through defenses or torch them from the pocket, making him a great fit for Deion Sanders’ offense. He’s the first commit in Clemson’s 2026 football class.

Despite the commitment to the Tigers, Colorado isn’t backing down. They’ve already extended an offer, with Pat Shurmur making a trip to see Tait Reynolds in person. He already has several offers from top schools like Oregon, Tennessee, and Miami, among others. He’s also not a stranger to flips too because he originally committed to Arizona State before bringing his commitment to Clemson in July. And as if this bold move isn’t enough, Deion Sanders is aiming for another higher starred commit.

5-star QB alert: Keisean Henderson on Deion Sanders’ radar

Colorado is also chasing Keisean Henderson, the No. 1 player in Texas and the No. 15 overall player in the nation. The 6’3, 185-pound QB committed to Houston in May 2024, but let’s be real, holding on to a 5-star in today’s world is a full-time job. Steve Wiltfong reported, “It’s going to be a tough road for any program to flip the Legacy High standout but Colorado, they feel like they got some inroads with the kid. They’re maintaining communication with him.”

Houston isn’t just fighting off with Colorado. Alabama, Florida State, and Georgia are among the mix. But Deion Sanders has already shown he can out-recruit some of the sport’s biggest names. Still, what if they fail to flip either? The Buffs still got two other 2026 QB options — Oscar Rios from Downey, CA. who has an OV scheduled for Boulder on June 20. They’re also in pursuit of former West Virginia commit Brodie McWhorter who listed Colorado in his top-7.

For now, Dabo Swinney and Houston’s Willie Fritz might boast their commits. But are they safe? That’s the question. Deion Sanders may have a unique recruiting approach. But when he comes knocking, recruits tend to answer.
