Will keep real with ya’ll. Ever since Ohio State won the natty, Michigan fans been on DEFCON 1-level salt. You know how they do—every single conversation gotta circle back to history. Like, congrats, y’all had a good run, but why you bringing up old stuff? Donovan Edwards must’ve been feeling that energy heavy, because at the Senior Bowl, he made sure the Buckeyes knew he wasn’t gonna let that Michigan dominance fade into the abyss just because they finally got a ring.

During an interview with Simone Eli, Edwards was asked about Michigan’s recent dominance in The Game. Instead of keeping it simple, the Michigan RB3 went straight for jugular with the ultimate flex backed by receipts: “Sh-t, which ones? I’ll do ya one better… We won the Big Ten championship [for the first time] in over 10 years and beat Ohio State. Sophomore year, we won another Big Ten Championship, two-peat, beat Ohio State again. Won a national championship the third year, beat Ohio State again.”

He didn’t stop there, the man took it to another level with a back-handed compliment and blunt reminder. “And then much respect to the Ohio State Buckeyes, gotta give it to them for the national championship. Congratulations to my boys. Also, beat them four times in a row, so the guys over there can’t say nothing about beating us. They ain’t getting no gold pants either.” Somebody get Ryan Day some TUMS, ‘cause that had to burn. That man is 1-4 against Michigan, and you know it eats at him every day that 40% of his Ls come from Ann Arbor. And about those gold pants? That’s a deep cut. Ohio State’s tradition of gifting those lil’ golden charms to players and coaches after beating Michigan? Yeah, the past four classes ain’t got none. Just heartbreak and misery till they won natty.

And listen, we can acknowledge Michigan’s natty in 2023. But let’s not act like that title ain’t got a massive asterisk attached. The NCAA got Michigan in a full-court press over that Connor Stalions sign-stealing operation. Meanwhile, Sherrone Moore out here pulling a Tom Brady, allegedly wiping messages like they’re classified documents. Michigan’s over here yelling “We ain’t do nothing!” while fumbling through a 137-page legal defense. Look, something happened.

But of course, the internet ain’t about to let Edwards slide with all that unchecked talk.

The Ohio State fans ain’t letting Donovan Edwards’ disrespect slide like that

When CBSSports posted the clip of Donovan talking reckless on IG, Buckeye Nation stormed the comments section like it was the Horseshoe on a Saturday night. The ratio was vicious. Let’s break it down.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Michigan's recent wins overshadow the cheating allegations, or do they taint their legacy?

Have an interesting take?

The Michigan fans of course had to bring in that cheating allegations, “Replay this when NCAA rules on cheating scandal!! All imaginary. NEVER HAPPENED.” Yes, the NCAA is going all in against Michigan over cheating allegations. Buckeye fans really out here trying to wipe the last four years from existence. The reality doesn’t work like that. Edwards got the receipts and the jewelry. Even if Michigan gets the hammer dropped, the Ls still count.

Next Ohio State fan hit em with ‘same’ cheating allegation, “They act like they didn’t cheat 4 years in a row! Coach (Jim Harbaugh) got suspended 2x in one season! Then bolted!”

Next user commented, “Spoken like a guy who did so bad they lowered his overall by 7.” Donovan Edward’s downfall must be studied. The Michigan RB went from almost 1K rushing yards in 2022 to barely cracking 589 this year. That’s like going from prime Adrian Peterson to Trent Richardson real quick.

Another IG user commented, “Bro should be worried about the fact that he destroyed his draft stock this year.” Now this one hurts. Edwards spent all year talking like he was ‘bout to run over the whole NCAA and then put up a mid-tier season at best. Now, scouts looking at him like, “You sure you ready for Sundays, my guy?” 589 yards? That ain’t first-round numbers. Hell, that’s barely “we’ll take a flyer on you in the sixth” numbers.

The last user commented, “Is this dude getting drafted or what?” Straight-up disrespect. Michigan fans were hyping up Edwards as a first-rounder just a year ago. Now? Even Mel Kiper lookin’ at his board like, “Ehh… maybe a late-round pick?” If he doesn’t go crazy at the Senior Bowl or the combine, he might be fighting for a practice-team spot, let alone a Day 1 selection.

Look, Donovan Edwards walked into the Senior Bowl practice talking crazy, and Ohio State fans were not having it. He flexed that record, but Buckeye Nation clapped back with cheating scandals, draft stock slander, and straight-up denial of Michigan’s wins. And honestly? They got some points. Michigan can talk their talk for now, but they better hope the NCAA don’t hit ‘em with a punishment that makes all this bragging look goofy in hindsight. And Edwards? Edwards might wanna shift his focus from OSU slander to making sure he actually hears his name called on draft night. ‘Cause right now, Buckeye fans got one question: Is he even getting drafted, though?
