As a redshirt freshman at Nebraska, Dylan Raiola threw the ball for 2,819 yards, hit on 67.1% of his attempts, and threw 13 touchdowns while also liberally distributing the ball to defenders 11 times. He broke Nebraska’s freshman records for passing yards and completion percentage. Spring practice? Oh, Raiola arrived as if he were auditioning for a Big Ten superhero film. He led drives, zipped passes, and overall seemed like he’d been calling plays since kindergarten. Speaking of Spring Game ’25, Raiola reminded everyone why he’s the program’s face and not merely because he has the finest hair since Scott Frost. He completed 16 of 22 for 239 yards, threw two touchdowns, and even added a two-point conversion for extra measure.

As Dylan Raiola has been illuminating Memorial Stadium and filling Nebraska football headlines, his sister Taylor Raiola has been working quietly to establish her reputation just down the hall—literally, as the two siblings now share an apartment in Lincoln. Taylor, a competitive double-double hitter from her playing days at TCU and also a master of social work, has brought competitiveness and recruiting sharpness with her to Nebraska as the volleyball recruiting graduate manager.

The Raiola siblings, though they inherit more than a few athletic genes, are also one another’s greatest cheerleaders, with Taylor frequently bragging about Dylan’s gridiron exploits on social media and in attendance. Taylor recently reshared one of Dylan’s posts on her story with the caption,My brothers are so big.”

Taylor was throwing a playful nod to the entire Raiola family vibe-literally and metaphorically. Dylan is making waves as Nebraska’s star QB, standing tall on the field with his 6-foot-3, 225-pound build and Mahomes-like swagger, so “big” definitely resonates with his physical stature and burgeoning football stardom. But it’s also that sibling pride thing, when she also commented, “Don’t hurt ’em, twin,” maybe with a wink.

And talking of brothers, let’s not overlook Dayton Raiola, another important component of the Raiola formula. While Dylan is the glamorous QB, Dayton is part of the family athletic tapestry as well, helping to perpetuate that “big” image whether on the pitch or simply as part of the close-knit group.

Dylan and Taylor have that typical kind of sibling relationship that’s half supportive and half of being at each other’s throats, but the love’s there. Dylan, the rising Nebraska QB, often thanks his sister, calling her his “best friend” and “the best sister on this planet” in heartwarming social media posts. Taylor, a former TCU volleyball standout turned Nebraska volleyball recruiting coordinator, isn’t just Dylan’s sister; she’s one of his biggest supporters and hype-women, often posting about him on Instagram and cheering him on from the sidelines.

Raiola’s growth beyond the stats

Dylan Raiola is showing he’s so much more than Nebraska’s quarterback; he’s becoming the pulse of the whole team and the face of Husker football. Coach Matt Rhule and offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen have praised his development, especially his efforts to motivate the entire offense. He ensures his receivers show up for extra reps and fosters strong chemistry. He’s not just throwing the ball; he’s taking charge of the offense and embracing the responsibility of being the team’s vocal leader.

Dylan Raiola is no longer simply “the Nebraska quarterback”; he’s essentially becoming a full-fledged Cornhusker celebrity, and the Adidas NIL contract is merely the icing on the already overflowing sundae. He’s no longer flying under the radar; he’s leading, building trust, and ensuring everyone knows who’s calling the shots in Lincoln. Even his sister Taylor is getting teary-eyed, making proud big-sis Instagram comments.

From breaking through with freshman records to emerging as a true leader in the locker room, Dylan Raiola is so much more than Nebraska’s new QB phenom. And don’t even get me started on the family factor, his sister Taylor cheering him on, reposting his highlights, and maintaining that sibling hype. Even Dayton’s is in on the mix, contributing to Raiola’s family athletic swagger. Dylan’s ascent from freshman sensation to full-fledged leader and face of the program is just beginning, and really, it’s not difficult to be enthused about what’s on the horizon.
