In just 96 hours, Kirk Herbstreit traveled more miles than many Americans travel in a month. To put it into context, he travelled around 5400 miles. Balancing his College GameDay commitments and NFL duties, the ESPN analyst’s travel routines become scary for most people. Thankfully, this Saturday’s assignment on ABC’s Georgia-Ole Miss coverage gives him a much-needed breather. It wouldn’t come as a surprise if it turns out Herbstreit spends more time in the air than on land.

In a post on X, Anthony Dasher confirmed Kirk Herbstreit would be in the ABC lineup, covering the game in Athens. His commentary duo, Chris Fowler and Holly Rowe, will join him on the sideline. Adding the fact that College GameDay is also scheduled at Georgia, the sports personality will have an easier time than last week.

Being one of the sport’s most recognizable faces and voices comes with a lot of responsibility. Herbstreit has been at the center of College GameDay since the 90s. His schedule was busier than most last week. Besides college football, Herbstreit calls NFL games on Amazon’s Thursday Night Football. To give you a perspective, he called the Oklahoma vs. Texas game for ABC on a Saturday after appearing on GameDay in the morning. Now, that’s hustle.

Likewise, he could not make a whole appearance on Saturday at College Gameday in Oregon. He had to leave Eugene to catch a flight to Dallas to cover the game between the Longhorns and Sooners with Chris Fowler. It was especially hectic for Herbstreit because he also had NFL duties two days prior for Amazon Prime. Basically, whenever ESPN needs him, Herbstreit steps up and delivers.

With the GameDay being in Georgia, he will not have to travel the way he did last week. No NFL duty confirmations have come out for Kirk Herbstreit this week. Thus, after logging in literally for 5400 miles, it’s a well-deserved break.

Kirk Herbstreit brings the action to Saturday’s showdown

We have a lot of exciting games to look forward to as week 8 approaches. South Carolina and Indiana Hoosiers will probably be an exciting matchup. But none come close to the SEC clash at Sanford, where the Georgia Bulldogs would take on the ever-improving Ole Miss.

Ole Miss hasn’t lost a game this season, boasting a 6-0 record. Build on a watertight defense with TJ Dottery having 37 total tackles, Kewan Lacy has had a quickfire start to the season with eight touchdowns already. On the other hand, Georgia looks revitalized after the Alabama loss, putting Kentucky and Auburn to bed in their path. It is essentially a battle for the top spot between two big dogs of the SEC.

This game will offer fans a front-row seat to one of the finest college football matchups. SEC against SEC, Gunner Stockton against Trinidad Chambliss, explosive offense vs. tight defense, and the addition of GameDay coverage are why this is one of the most exciting games to watch this season.
