Bhayshul Tuten, the Virginia Tech running back, had a 1,000+ yard rushing season in 2024. He led the rushing charts in most of the games as he showcased why he merits the NFL ticket. He made it to the All-ACC team for the second time and executed 15 rushing touchdowns for the Hokies. Then came the NFL combine.
The 5’11” and 209-pound RB didn’t shy away from the challenge and now has executed a feat that will raise his NFL draft prospects to the roof. So much so that a few days earlier, he was ranked 14th in his position just 2 days ago. And now, after his performance, he surely will make at least the top 5 pick in his position. The question now is, what exactly has he done?

Well, in the ongoing NFL Scout combine, he executed the 40-yard dash in just 4.32 seconds and stood first overall among all players at the Combine. In the 10-yard split, the player has done another remarkable feat as he did it in 1.49 seconds and stood first. You can just see him running like a bullet, whooshing through the air. Apart from the dashes, he jumped as high as 40.50 inches and stood first in that too. Come now to Broad Jump; he stood second as he jumped for 10 feet and 10 inches.
The player has just shown his talent and lit up the whole of Indianapolis with his talent. Surely, now more scouts will take note, and offers will line up for him left, right, and center. But, more than that, the Washington Commanders’ fans are lighting up the X feed and urging their GM, Adam Peters, to grab the talent first.

Commanders’ fans’ reaction to the news
An X account recently tagged the Commanders in the X post, where Tuten’s highlights at the NFL Combine were listed in a bid that someone at the Commanders’ camp will take note of. Another prominent Comanders’ account named ‘CommiesFan’ wrote, “Adam Peters please. I promise you won’t regret it.” But the question is, why Commanders?

Well, the Commanders have been vying for the services of former Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty. They have also set up a meeting this week, as per Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network. Jeanty is undoubtedly a proven running back in the draft, as he was the Heisman runner-up behind Travis Hunter. But Jeanty being picked in the first round will cost a lot more, whereas Tuten is someone quite unknown in that regard and is gaining eyeballs now after his Combine performance.
A user summarized the emotions. “Like come on man this dudes a different breed you know what to do Adam Peters“. Another literally begged Adam Peters to sign the man. “IM BEGGING YOU ADAM PLEASE!!!! I NEED HIM IN A COMMANDERS UNI!!!!”. Surely, now Tuten will somehow grab the attention of the Commanders, and maybe they will make a run for him in the draft. But also, because they have the 29th draft pick, it would make sense for them to sign Tuten eventually instead of Jeanty, who may not be available at the 29th spot.
