Life is unpredictable! The New Orleans tragedy left several broken families behind. Among the unfortunate victims is one former college football player who was supposed to be there for his younger brother at this year’s NFL draft. Such a heartbreaking incident that didn’t leave just the poor brother broken, but it also hurt the hearts of two CFB QBs.

Ex Princeton WR Tiger Bech, older brother of TCU star Jack Bech, succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the terrorist attack. The 28-year-old was reportedly transferred to a hospital in New Orleans, but he couldn’t be saved. Following the tragedy, a heartbroken Jack Bech paid a special tribute to Tiger Bech on X. He posted a photo of the two brothers during a duck catching adventure coupled with a tear-jerking caption that read — “Love you always brother ! You inspired me everyday now you get to be with me in every moment. I got this family T, don’t worry. This is for us.” This post broke so many hearts including Ole Miss’ QB Jaxson Dart and LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier who both shared the post on their Instagram story on January 2 with a broken heart emoji.

Bourbon Street witnessed a deadly mass truck attack on New Year’s Day that killed at least 15 people including Tiger Bech. Among those grieving from his passing, Jack Bech received the hardest blow. He was part of LSU and maintains a good bond with Nussmeier despite his transfer to TCU for his final two seasons of college football. He finished his senior year at TCU with 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns for 62 catches.

Just last month, Jack Bech declared for the NFL draft. He would’ve wanted Tiger by his side during this crucial transition. But the love he has for his brother turned something in him. Despite the pain, his vow to uphold the family to honor his late brother only shows how strong he is. It’s perhaps the embodiment of all the lessons and advice he received from Tiger, who was once a special football player himself.

RIP Tiger Bech

Tiger Bech was a star athlete, and a motivation for his brother. He was honored twice with All-Ivy League titles as a return specialist. His career stats include 825 yards and three touchdowns for 53 receptions before graduating from Princeton in 2021. Per reports, he was working as a trader at Seaport Global, a New York brokerage firm.

Tiger wasn’t even 30. He had his whole life ahead of him but unfortunately, no one is safe from unexpected attacks like these. It not only stole the lives of several people but also had so many families grieving on New Year’s Day with this senseless killing. What has the world come to!? It’s sick.

The incident also affected the Sugar Bowl between Georgia and Notre Dame, which was set to take place on Wednesday. According to Sugar Bowl CEO Jeff Hundley, the game will be postponed to Thursday to prioritize public safety.
