Hollywood may have a new target in its sights: Bill Belichick. Flaunting eight Super Bowl rings on his fingers, the most in NFL history, Bill Belichick’s genius lay in his ‘Do your Job’ mantra. Now, the Oscar-nominated actor, Mark Wahlberg, who’s long been a Patriots superfan, told TMZ Sports that taking on Belichick’s story on screen is a dream project, calling him the “greatest coach of all time.”

Wahlberg isn’t new to football-themed storytelling. In 2006, he starred in Invincible, portraying Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Vince Papale’s rise from substitute teacher to NFL player. Now, with Peacock’s Ted Animated Series underway, he’s looking for an even bigger challenge: stepping into the shoes of one of football’s most enigmatic coaches.

Over his career, Mark has received two Oscar nominations. Best supporting actor for his role in The Departed (2006) as a staff sergeant Sean Dignam, and another nomination for his film, ‘The Fighter (2010) as a producer in the category of Best Picture.

Well, as of Belichick. An opportunity arose to create audio-visual content of his journey. It was a docu-series, to be precise. The NFL Films wanted to document Belichick’s efforts to rebuild the UNC Tar Heels, whose 2024 6-7 record screamed for help. However, as reported, Belichick’s girlfriend, Hudson, interfered in those plans, eventually scrapping the project. And with the HBO documentary as well, Hudson’s demands eventually canceled the plans. She demanded that she be granted content approval and partial ownership of the show. Well, the plan never materialized.

Hudson’s relationship with Belichick is not just limited to their personal affairs, but rather bleeds into his professional career as well. On LinkedIn, the former cheerleader lists her job as the chief operating officer of Belichick Productions. She handles everything from his public relations to crisis communication. She has further been spotted on the sidelines during game days. But more than that, the duo is now being invited together for a double date.

The former Patriots head coach, known for his gruff personality, had been reserved about his personal life. But now his romance with girlfriend Hudson has peeled back the curtains on that. Although a lot of drama, speculation, and criticism have stemmed up targeting the duo’s romantic life, the duo has now received an invitation to have a double date with the Patriots fan.

Aside from stating his desire to play Belichick on the screen, the Oscar nominee put forth his invitation to Belichick and Hudson, inviting them over to dinner. The TMZ reporter asked, “Mark, we gotta ask you. Bill Belichick, everyone’s talking about his girlfriend; Would you be open to double-dating with him and her?”

His reply gave absolute-patriot fans energy. “If Bill wants to go to dinner with his girlfriend and my wife, that’s no problem.” Rhea Durham, Mark’s wife, is a Patriots fan as well. Since last year, Belichick’s association with his romantic partner, Hudson, has shot him into the limelight. Bill Belichick.
