LSU witnessed a lot of ups and downs this season. The Tigers lost their most promising prospect in Bryce Underwood, who was supposed to call plays next year. This turn of events brought back QB Garrett Nussmeier to Baton Rouge, who was previously expected to leave college football after this season. But this new direction means that he had to sacrifice his plans with his girlfriend.

Ella Springfield would’ve loved to graduate together with Garrett Nussmeier at LSU. But it’s not to be. So Mister Man is her obsession, and he’s going to keep her company in the absence of her athletic boyfriend. On December 21, the fresh LSU graduate took to her IG story to post her sweet furry companion Ace with the caption, “I am obsessed with you.”

One of the things that Ella Springfield is known for is her bond with her cute black and white dog Ace. Closer than peas in a pod, she calls him Mister Man. Ace is a huge part of Ella Springfield’s life. She even has pictures of her, Garrett Nussmeier, and the loyal dog on her IG timeline. And that’s not all.

Ace is everywhere Ella goes, and she calls him her “favorite road trip buddy.” She has a huge compilation of her best moments with her handsome one-year-old companion on her IG. They sure have lots of fun together exploring different places. Can Ace fill the space in her heart with his goofy and adorable tactics while Garrett Nussmeier stays back for one more year at LSU?

Ella Springfield accepts Garrett Nussmeier’s decision

Garrett Nussmeier still has one year of college eligibility. But there have been rumors that he would be leaving college together with his girlfriend after the 2024 season. So, it was news when he announced that his “time at LSU is not over.” He said, “I’m officially announcing that I’m returning for my final year of eligibility.” This season, he finished 63.7% of his passes for 3,739 yards and 26 touchdowns, but his return could be a good thing

With that said, the couple will have to spend a year apart. As of now, it’s not clear where Ella Springfield will be headed next. But it’s never easy to part with a loved one, even if it’s just for a year. Still, she didn’t just accept it; she supported him wholeheartedly. Sharing his announcement on social media, she captioned, “So beyond proud of the person you are. Cannot wait to see all you do this next year!!”

Distance doesn’t matter as long as there is mutual love and understanding. Hopefully, both Ella Springfield and Garrett Nussmeier can look back one day and say it was hard, but it was worth it.
