It’s high time we put those Mike Bobo rumors to bed. On Friday, Georgia sent shockwaves through the college football world when rumors surfaced that their offensive coordinator might be stepping down. Apparently, health issues were cited as the reason. But just as quickly as these rumors spread, they were shot down by multiple Georgia insiders. Still, the speculation just kept on going. So, let’s hear what the DawgsHQ co-owner has to say about this whole mess.

Hosts of Georgia Bulldogs Football on DawgsHQ, Jake Reuse and Rusty Mansell, discussed this viral situation in their new YouTube episode on January 19. Mansell slammed the rumors about Mike Bobo, saying that “that’s simply not the case.” He said, “[Mike]’s out recruiting for Georgia. If there’s a chance, we’ll certainly report that. But as for that particular report that he was expected to step down because of health issues, simply not the case.”

Rusty Mansell already dispelled the rumor on his X post on January 18, which read, “Let me say it this way, 1000% not true that Mike Bobo is stepping down for health issues or planning on retiring.” He maintains this and also added a meaty context that Bobo “missed his son’s senior football banquet” because “he was watching a quarterback in Miami play basketball.” And that is Dia Bell, a Texas QB commit. His action isn’t something someone with health concerns would be up for. And he’s not the only Georgia insider who’s making things clear about Bobo.

Here’s another one from Rivals insider Radi Nabulsi. He first dispelled the rumor that Georgia approached Georgia Tech OC Buster Faulkner as Bobo’s replacement. He got in touch with Faulkner, who denied any such approach. He also affirmed that he met with Bobo after the Sugar Bowl, and he mentioned that there’s no plan to retire. But here’s the best bit.

Nabulsi added, “We spoke to someone very, very close to Mike Bobo and we were able to go out and say unequivocally that Mikey Bobo has no plans to step down, step aside, or quit.” Gotta believe that. Kirby Smart is already making a winning move on his former recruit, and it could be a product of Bobo’s relentless recruiting pursuit.

Georgia re-diverts its attention to Jared Curtis

5-star Jared Curtis, No. 2 QB of the 2026 class, first committed to Kirby Smart in March. And yeah, he broke many people’s hearts when he decommitted from the Bulldogs back in October to weigh his options. But maybe he realized the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, as the Nashville native holds Georgia as one of his top six schools, including Oregon, Alabama, South Carolina, Auburn, and Ohio State.

As of now, Jared Curtis has a big inclination towards Georgia per 247Sports Crystal Ba-l Predictions. But upcoming visits could play a crucial part in his decision. The 6’4, 225-pounder is set to visit three schools this June. He’ll be in Oregon from June 6-8 before visiting Georgia from 13-15 and rounding it up with a trip to South Carolina from 20-22. We’ll see if new developments will surface before summer that could change his inclination.

As for Mike Bobo, it looks like he’s here to stay in Georgia. So the wisest move for us as fans is to save ourselves from all these speculations.
