You’ve got captain save-game in Cam Ward; they’re gonna have to deal with No. 1 today, baby,” Howard said. The former Heisman Trophy winner, in praising Ward, did take a shot at the Hurricanes’ defense, but can you really blame him? Whatever the defense may leak, the Yellow Jackets know that they have to get through Ward for any chance of winning against the 9-0 Hurricanes.

It’s intriguing to notice Miami won most of its game late in the fourth quarter. The credit goes to? The one and only Cam Ward. Desmond Howard, who lives in Miami and who has also visited the Hurricanes quite a time, praised Ward by saying, “He’s the difference. I went over to campus and visited the football field. I spoke to players, and they said three things about Cam. he plays with a very low post. From day one, when he stepped foot on that campus, he was the leader. The most important thing, guys, he’s got that it factor.”

Howard recalled his visit to the Hurricanes and talked about the insiders, from his teammates to the coaching staff, who were talking about Cam Ward. Everyone respects Ward for the guy he is. Another Game Day member, Pat McAfee, also shared his thoughts on Ward, saying, “Throughout the season, Virginia Tech, Cal, LSU, Duke, all fourth-quarter comebacks. You’re (Howard) saying you always have a chance; you certainly do.”

McAfee pointed to those late-game wins of the Hurricanes where the winning title was saved by Cam Ward. Agreeing with what others say, Alabama’s former coach Nick Saban shared his views, saying, “When I see great players like Cam Ward, when you have that kind of competitor when you look them in the eye, you know they’re going to win.”

After hearing all that hype, the college game day crew is building upon Cam Ward. No doubt Georgia Tech is going to face a tornado today as they face the No. 4 Miami Hurricanes.
