Gunner Stockton, a redshirt junior quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs, has steadily risen to become one of the most intriguing signal-callers in college football. He was born and raised in Tiger, Georgia. Stockton was a record-setting star at Rabun County High School, where he passed for 13,652 yards and 177 touchdowns, while also rushing for 4,372 yards and 77 touchdowns. He finished his high school career as Georgia’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns and total offense and was named the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2021.
Stockton is the son of Rob and Sherrie Stockton, both of whom have deep roots in northeast Georgia. His father, Rob, played safety at Georgia Southern and later became a high school coach and local business owner. His mother, Sherrie, is a school counselor and former college basketball player at Erskine College. Gunner’s upbringing in a close-knit community instilled in him a strong work ethic, humility, and leadership qualities that have carried over into his collegiate career.
A four-star recruit and one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the 2022 class, Stockton committed to the University of Georgia and enrolled early in January 2022. He redshirted his freshman season while contributing in practice during Georgia’s national championship run.
