It was a grim moment for Alabama when WR Cole Adams went down with a leg injury against Missouri. It happened during their first game possession when he was hit by a Mizzou defender while blocking on a 4-yard reception by TE CJ Dipree. He was taken to the medical tent and was later carted to the Alabama locker room wearing a boot. What really happened to the second-year player? How long will he be out?

Kalen DeBoer didn’t feel so optimistic about a quick return by Cole Adams. An X post on October 27 featured the new Crimson Tide HC’s update on his injured player. As per his update, Adams had suffered a “lower-extremity injury” and could be out for a while.

In his latest update, Kalen DeBoer said, “Probably going to be some more evaluation, feels like it’s going to be something that might be a little bit of time where he’ll be missed.” Cole Adams has already dealt with injury earlier this season when he sustained an arm injury against South Florida in Week 2. So, he hasn’t seen much action this season though he exuded his explosive skills when he got chances.

Listed as a backup to Kendrick Law and Kobe Prentice, Adams appeared in seven games for the Crimson Tide and recorded six receptions for 94 yards but that last game could be his last. Considering the severity of his current injury, he might not even return after all. But looking on the bright side, Alabama delivered a statement win over Missouri for an epic comeback after two losses.

Kalen DeBoer and Alabama make an epic comeback

Being constantly compared to Nick Saban comes with pressure, especially when Kalen DeBoer faced his first defeat against Vanderbilt. That Vandy loss turned fans against the 50-year-old HC who fell deeper into the abyss with another loss against Tennessee. But it was the last 34-0 statement win at Bryant-Denny Stadium where DeBoer managed to appease the angry fans.

Alabama’s run game stole the spotlight in their last blowout win where they secured all their four touchdowns through runs. Jam Miller scored two TDs in the red zone, Jalen Milroe ran 9 yards for a TD, and Justice Haynes scored a 35-yard running TD. But the defense stood out from the rest with tanks like Malachi Moore and Bray Hubbard giving consistent pressure to the Tigers’ offense. Kalen DeBoer and his team better make the best use of their second bye-week before they face No. 8 LSU on November 9.
