Hold on to your horses as the 2024 SEC season is approaching. This year, the season is bigger with 16 teams, and for the first time, it has a non-divisional scheduling format. New teams mean new bondings, rivalries, more drama on and off the field, and, most importantly, a showcasing of talent, skills, and sportsmanship.
Texas and Oklahoma are the two new joiners. Today, let’s talk about Steve Sarkisian’s team, the Texas Longhorns, and the games they will play this season. Also, let’s take a sneak peek into their opponents. The defending Big 12 champions are all set for their debut in the SEC this season. Texas’s opponents for their first SEC season
Head coach Steve Sarkisian didn’t have a great start with the Longhorns. But after 2023, he changed the team’s weaknesses into strengths, and they started winning games. He successfully led the team to an impressive 12-2, and most importantly, his guidance helped the team achieve the Big 12 championship title with a 49-21 win against Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma Sooners and Texas are on the same page, as both teams will play the SEC for the first time. Both teams have experience playing big matches and winning the toughest games. However, October 12 can be the most-awaited day for football fans because the long-time rivals, Oklahoma and Texas, will play out.
