With a hard-fought victory over Clemson, the South Carolina Gamecocks concluded a strong regular season. They defeated Clemson 17–14 after losing or being tied for the majority of the game, raising the question of whether Shane Beamer‘s squad is worthy of a bid. Certainly, Beamer believes so. He’s been making the case for his team, saying, “I do believe we deserve a spot in the 12-team playoff.” Even though South Carolina’s playoff position was still up in the air, the head coach’s relationship with his family remained unchanged.

Well, Beamer‘s first stay in Columbia was as coach Steve Spurrier’s assistant at SC. And that’s when he had his daughters, Sutton, 16, and Olivia, 14. Hunter, who was born in 2013, completed the family of 5 while Beamer was coaching in Blacksburg for his father, the renowned VT coach Frank. After Frank retired, Shane Beamer joined the staff at Georgia under Kirby Smart in 2016, and he later moved on to Oklahoma in 2018. Finally, on December 16, 2020, he joined South Carolina Gamecocks.
