However, the amount will be decreased to $3 million if he resigns in 2025, and it will be down to $2 million if he does in 2026, and he’ll only owe them $1.5 million if he leaves the program any day after 2026. it’s just insane! How much will the Florida Gators pay Billy Napier if they replace him with Lane Kiffin?
Go back to the year 2021, when Billy Napier was a freshly appointed head coach at the Florida Gators after replacing him with Mullen. They signed a $51.8 million contract. Currently, Napier receives a $7,370,000 annual salary from the gators. Last season he got a whopping $7.1 million even after losing seven games.
Napier’s contract with the Gators makes him the 10th-highest college football coach. As a result, if the Gators fire him without cause, they’ll have to pay him $28.3 million as part of their contract. However, it’s college football, man! And a program like Florida can easily afford to pay Napier his remaining amount and even buy out Kiffin’s contract from Ole Miss.
