Shedeur Sanders isn’t the luckiest one during the Colorado Buffs last week’s match-up. But it’s safe to say, he showcased great care and resilience not to get dumped by a possible season-ending injury. Buffs were no longer a Sureshot national championships contender. A tragic third loss against Kansas at Arrowhead Stadium dented their playoff after week 13. But at least they wouldn’t have to face Oklahoma State without Shedeur Sanders. Fans were left in a stew when the 22-year-old took a cheap bump into his knees from Kansas DE Dean Miller. It would have been a double wound, coupled with the 37-21 upset, if Sanders surrendered to the pain, but he didn’t.

Shedeur Sanders has been on a tear this season. Despite being in the shadows of two juggernauts, Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter, Shedeur kept adding stacks to his vintage resume with a hoard of touchdowns and lofty passing yards. His numbers and supreme athletics earned him a significant spot on the Heisman odds list and mock NFL Draft. But the Sanders’ kid narrowly escaped bad luck last Saturday (November 23). During a chaotic second quarter when the Buffs were desperately trying to even the Jayhawks 23-14 lead, Shedeur made a dicey pass attempt. The defender didn’t take a second to slam into him. No flags were raised for roughing the passer, but thankfully, Shedeur marked himself safe. Dad Shedeur watched everything and kept believing in his son.

Deion, as always, played the tough dad. Despite dealing a lot of brickbats on promoting nepotism, the Colorado coach has proved how roughly he brought up his sons and made them field-ready several times. Saturday was another testament to his hardy training.

Even if Shedeur expected some help, Deion noted, ”I probably scared him a little bit. I am like, please, we don’t need the training staff to run out there. We have to not take you out of play, okay like come on”
Deion is more of a coach who takes care of the collective business rather than just safeguarding his son. ”I am thinking football because I know him like a book. I know when he’s hurt, you got to understand. He got hit one time and then I went in the little tent with him, and said, ‘look up man, get out this tent and let’s go,’ and he just burst out laughing in the tent.”

However, when it comes to his son’s future, the apparent generic approach took a U-turn and a protective dad instinct took over. Anybody close to the CFB community is well aware of how much influence Deion Sanders is going to have on Shedeur Sanders’ onrushing NFL career.
Shedeur Sanders ignores outside noise to acknowledge his father’s role in his life
Despite not being able to land at a top spot in the Heisman race adhering to his teammate, Travis Hunter makes all the talking as a potential first-round pick in next year’s NFL draft. While the list of his suitors is long, Deion Sanders has some specific criteria to be met. The first and foremost among them is he doesn’t want an outright professional, less sensitive coach for his son.

As Shedeur developed a habit of practicing alongside his dad, Deion wants to ensure the same feeling of safety and comfort in his NFL tenure. A coach who would love to teach and guide him through everything with a patient, kind approach is a top choice on Deion’s list.
However, there is a rumor that Deion Sanders and his son Shedeur Sanders will be floated as a package deal for some NFL big bees, but Sanders hasn’t given his nod to that idea yet. But regardless of the potential father-son union in the NFL, Deion Sanders will always remain the pivot in his son’s life.
