On the November 15th episode of the Nike Well Collective Buffs star quarterback Shedeur Sanders reflected on how life is never easy when you are a Sanders. “It’s been my last name my whole life, so I understand what Dad did, being able to put us on a great platform and being able to let the legacy get handed off to us as kids. We just have to withhold and uphold that name to the highest standard,” he said. Well, who doesn’t wish to take over their father’s legacy? But then people always expect you to be better, and the fact that Shedeur is making it look easy is hard to ignore.

Shedeur Sanders has proven to be a valuable asset in leading the Colorado Buffs from a 4-8 record to an impressive 7-2 this season. Not only that, but he is also emerging as one of the top contenders in the Heisman race. His ability to take over the team’s legacy successfully is truly remarkable. However, it’s unfortunate that Shedeur, despite giving his all on the field, often faces negative perceptions simply because he’s a Sanders. This not only overshadows his game contributions but also drags him into unnecessary controversies.

Addressing the disrespect and negativity tied to carrying his family name, the QB shared how he’s learned to rise above the criticism. “It gave me a real bad feeling. And, you know, everybody being together when there’s a lot of negativity, when there’s a lot of hate out there, and we’re doing something different that hasn’t been done before. So, that kind of fueled everything,” he said, reflecting on how the backlash has only driven him to push harder.

However, there’s another side to this story where, despite his last name, Shedeur Sanders earns recognition for his dedicated performance on the field. One such instance is when CBS Sports ranked Shedeur as the No. 1 quarterback of the season a few days ago, despite having a rift with Deion Sanders. So, it’s not like the media is always biased towards Sanders, but they surely put them under stress sometimes. But apart from this, there are other factors affecting Shedeur’s future in the NFL. 

Is Shedeur Sanders’ NFL future at stake?

Well, Sanders’ name carries a lot of weight in the football world. Their presence is not only limited to college football but also to the NFL, knowing that Coach Prime had created a long-lasting impact on them throughout his career. But it looks like getting known by everyone is not coming off as a good sign for him and his children, as Shedeur Sanders finds himself in a tricky position with not being able to get in his desired pro-league team because of the rift they have with Deion Sanders.

Putting light into the whole matter Shedeur Sanders revealed that he might find it hard to find a perfect NFL team for two reasons: one is based on his preference, but the other one is a bit concerning as it involves a ‘”liking” issue with Coach Prime. “There’s a couple of teams that don’t fit. You know the situation, everything, and you got to understand, there’s a couple teams that don’t like the personality, that don’t like, dad!” Shedeur Sanders said.

Well, he obviously didn’t mention any specific names, but the Shedeur comment added a lot of content to the already-brewing story around his last name, reflecting on their careers. However, knowing the kind of player Shedeur Sanders is, any NFL team that gets him on their team will be riding a wave of luck.
