Today on the Travis Hunter Show, Travis Hunter talked about the reason behind the quick decision not to play for the second half against the Wildcats. Travis said, “Uh decision is we up 28-7 defense playing good playing lights out. So if I want to get healthy and be 100% healthy, go ahead and sit out, get right for the next week, and just be set, you know. Don’t be selfish to other players on the team, and just I went out there to go help the guys out like that’s my main thing.” Letting go of a player like Travis Hunter is not an easy thing. However, Hunter’s decision to stay out of the field to recover and come back for the Buffs’ next one is a smart call giving health priority.

Moreover, Travis Hunter’s course of action also showed his love for the Buffs; he left the crucial game just to help them out on their next one and also prioritize his health. Travis added to it, saying, “I want us to win, and whatever I could do to help us win, that’s what I’m going to do, and me just being on the field in the first half helped our team out a lot.” Well, that’s a straight fact. Hunter scored two catches for 17 yards before he was out because of his stiff shoulder.

Talking about his injury, even Buffs head coach Deion Sanders faced a lot of trolls and backlashes after his decision to take Travis Hunter out of the game against Arizona. However, Coach Prime was pretty clear that he wanted Hunter to recover completely, as he was sore and had difficulty playing last week. Now that the team is heading to play against Cincinnati next week, Sanders also shared an update on Hunter’s injury, saying, “Will contribute a lot more than he did a week ago, because he’s healthier.” It looks like Coach and even Travis Hunter took the right call by not stressing much about his injury, as his presence is very important for their Bowl eligibility.
