Jalen Milroe has a unique way of showing respect! What better time than a touchdown when you’re the center of attention to announce to the world how much a person meant to you?

Alabama’s Week 2 game against South Florida didn’t begin in the favor of Jalen Milroe and the Crimson Tide. The score opened in their opponent’s favor with a 34-yard field goal by John Cannon in the first quarter. But Milroe made it up shortly with a touchdown that not only celebrated their lead score but also threw the spotlight on a recently deceased rapper.

Jalen Milroe is not just winning points for Alabama, but he also paid his tribute to late rapper Rich Homie Quan after doing what he did best! On September 7, as Alabama faced South Florida, the star QB delivered a 10-yard TD in the first quarter to lead the game 7-3. But the infamous Hit the Quan move after the TD can’t keep fans’ mouths silent.

Hit the Quan dance was inspired by Rich Homie Quan from his song ‘Flex’. The Atlanta rapper played a huge role in the thriving hip-hop scene, serving as an idol to many, including Jalen Milroe who emulated his dance after a cheer to honor him. He passed away on Thursday without a cited cause in Atlanta at 34. With his move, Milroe has touched the hearts of thousands of both his and the rapper’s fans. And as the game progresses, will this game also be dominant, like their season opener victory?

Jalen Milroe and Alabama come off strong in the season opener

A transition in the HC from Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer didn’t faze the dominant and winning culture of Alabama. After all, Jalen Milroe has got them together with his “daily improvement” plan. Jalen Milroe is aware of the expectations at Alabama when he said, “It’s very humbling to be at Alabama, because at their high school, everyone was the top guy. Wherever they came from, they were a leader, they were a captain. They were the best wherever they came from. When the game comes, it’s kind of slower, because you’re playing the best in the country.”

On September 1, when they met WKU in their season opener, they crushed them with a blowout 63-0 score. For most people, their Week 2 is also more of a question of whether they can beat USF in a similarly dominant way. Their next game will be with Wisconsin, but it’s the following game that’ll test Jalen Milroe and the Crimson Tide when they meet No. 1 Georgia.
