Jalen Milroe‘s NFL fate continues to be a hot pick of the debate as we inch toward April’s Draft day. The Alabama quarterback couldn’t meet the benchmark expectations of the Crimson Tide last season, which culminated in a significant loss in the stock. Things could still be managed if he took charge and successfully reinforced his talent and skill during the Super Bowl exposure. But what he did is outright opposite. Milroe, the Texas native, failed to turn the heads of the scouts present at the Senior Bowl. Starting from footwork, timing, mechanics, and everything in between, Milroe was pretty average in his final exhibition before the draft.

However, when we struggle to find a breather, draft guru Jordan Palmer dished a small ray of hope that is enough to not lose hope on your once favorite QB.

Jalen Milroe’s NFL fate seems to flare up with a new hope

What awaits Milroe in the highly debated NFL race? Palmer revealed he spent some time with the Alabama QB and found his personality infectiously magnetic. Apart from the athleticism that’s been the biggest trait of Milroe, Palmer thinks his intangibles put a plus on his resume. Is he going to get an edge over the better prospects in the room?

I mean that’s the way the combine has been set up. As a medical exam first and now it’s been dressed around some other things. I’ve been in there… I think it’s really crucial in the team evaluation of them getting to lock you in a room for 15 minutes and do all the games and all the things that I get guys prepared for,” Palmer said. And when Rich Eisen asked him, “Is Jaylen gonna do it?” The NFL draft guru said “Yes”.

“That’s by the way, it’s great certainly if we’re assuming Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders will not,’‘ Eisen pinpointed a covert advantage. However, despite the glimmer, Milroe doesn’t weigh well in the draft projection after all his severe issues with accuracy and the other shortcoming is quite a lot to bear for any team.

NFL Network’s Chad Reuter outright dismisses Milroe as a potential first-round pick. He places the former Tide signal caller at No. 52 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers scouts reportedly love Milroe’s talent and see him as a potential franchise quarterback. So, it made a lot of sense. But the bigger question is: Can there be a window through which Milroe can get back to his best?

Can Jalen Milroe still improve his draft stock with a controversial move?

The escape clause is simply a position flip. NFL Rookie Watch tweeted on February 22, explaining what can be

the save for Milroe’s woes. It suggested, “Jalen Milroe’s draft stock is reportedly ‘all over the place’ between NFL scouts heading into the NFL Combine.” While Milroe drew a lot of parallels with Malik Willis, with people calling him the SEC version of Willis, or Jalen Hurts, he should not hold on to the old spot as per the latest expert advice.

A part of the tweet read,

“And some NFL scouts think Milroe would have a ‘better chance of success’ switching to RB rather than playing QB in the NFL.” But his stats as the QB speak out loud as to why the phenom didn’t opt for a role change. Milroe appeared in 39 games, putting together 6,016 passing yards for 45 passing touchdowns. His strongest flex has always been his legs, as they helped him stand up to a whopping 1,577 rushing yards and 33 rushing touchdowns.

Staying true to his authentic power, Milroe said,

”Of course, the question’s asked, switching positions and stuff like that. What I can do? You never ask a zebra to be a dog.” Now, it asks for a debate to determine whether or not Milroe should trade up his QB chair for the RB’s attention. But as of now, all eyes are on the upcoming draft fate that is going to be a make-or-break verdict for the 21-year-old Alabama kid.
