Mike Elko’s Texas A&M is absolutely rolling this season. Undefeated so far (6-0), they are dialing down on their recruiting efforts as well. As per Rivals’ latest report, Elko’s 2026 class has a real shot at flipping a four-star wide receiver from the mid-south.

Jayden Warren is one name that popped up on On3’s flip intel radar. Back in July, he committed to the Houston Cougars. “Nobody was a stranger; it felt like home,” he had said at the time, turning down offers from SMU and TCU. Already a leading rusher for his high school, he has received interest from various SEC programs, with the Aggies in the mix as well.

Over the weekend, he was present at College Station to watch the Gators vs. Aggies matchup, where the latter emerged victorious, 34-17. According to Rival’s Steve Wiltfong, the Houston commit is likely to return for another official visit and “believes that Texas A&M has a very real shot to flip Warren.” In a way, the OV came at the perfect time for the Aggies. What better way to impress a potential commit than taking down the Gators?

Warren, the 6’5″, 195-pound wide receiver, hails from Rosharon, Texas, and ranks No. 23 as WR (per On3) for the 2026 class. He ranks in a No. 22 spot in the State of Texas as well. In his junior year, he caught 26 passes for 613 yards and 14 touchdowns. While these stats do not paint his run-game film, his speed is certainly an asset. As a track athlete, he led his school to a Texas 5A boys state championship. He clocked in a 10.23 in the 100-meter dash this spring.

Although in junior year, he did not see much action, catching only seven receptions for 140 yards, four of which were converted into touchdowns. Moreover, he has earned the Second Team Honors on the 2025 Preseason DCTX Whataburger Super Team from Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.

Presently, the Aggies’ 2026 class has 27 commits, ranking No. 6 nationally, with 78% Blue Chip recruits. If Warren chooses to flip his commitment, he will join the likes of CB Brandon Arrington, RB Jonathon Hatton Jr., and WR Aaron Gregory, among others. But the Aggies are not the only program interested in him.

He has been to Norman more than once. Last year, when he visited, the Sooners extended him the offer, becoming the first Power 4 program to do so. This year, in January, he again dropped by at the program. In addition to Oklahoma’s recruiting efforts, Warren’s family ties might play a role as well. “I do see myself playing there,” he had told 247Sports’ Collin Kennedy back in January. He had also scheduled his visit on June 28. However, he committed to Houston the next month.

Even Notre Dame Irish had extended him an offer and hosted him in June. For his collegiate career, he is clear about what he needs to work on and work for. “In college, just running vertical really isn’t going to work,” he said to KPRC 2 Houston Texans Reporter, Aaron Wilson. “I am working on my route running, and that has come a long way, especially in the playoffs.”
