The Wolverines secured a win against Fresno State! But their former head coach, Jim Harbaugh, wasn’t there to see it all. Even in this post-Harbaugh era, Michigan Wolverines looked energized as they kicked off their season with a 1-0 record. Although Harbaugh was invited to be their “honorary captain” for the game, he declined the offer respectfully. Instead, his parents, Jack, and Jackie Harbaugh, showed up to support the team in Jim’s place.

Sportscaster Brad Galli caught up to the couple and asked about being back in Michigan after a long time. Well, the last time they were there was for the final championship-winning game against Washington. Galli asked if it “itch you a little bit” to witness the ‘Go Blue’ energy, and Jackie Harbaugh responded energetically, “Oh sure it does. Are you kidding me!?”

She admitted it felt “nostalgic” to see the team in action again, with tears in her eyes. When asked about her emotions, Jackie explained, “Everything that Jim promised to do here, he’s done. The players on this football field, and the ones who have left, made it happen.” Well, Jack Harbaugh, seeing his wife’s emotion, chimed in, saying, “So excited to be back in Ann Arbor.”

Meanwhile, the lovely couple’s son is serving a one-year suspension from the NCAA due to violations under his watch. Well, it includes recruiting during a dead period and, most importantly, their illegal sign-stealing stint. This even led to a four-year show-cause notice for Jim Harbaugh.

Now, while all this drama is happening in Ann Arbor, Jim seems to be enjoying his time in Los Angeles.

Jim Harbaugh is chilling in LA

Jim Harbaugh has left for the NFL, likely for good. Knowing the trouble he might face if he stayed with the Wolverines, the coach made a smart move to join the LA Chargers. While his former team played their first game, Harbaugh was spotted driving a classy ‘Blue’ Cybertruck on the streets of Los Angeles, subtly showing support for his new Chargers team. Well, he hasn’t commented publicly about the Michigan game yet, but Sherrone Moore is speaking up for his former boss. The new head coach explained Harbaugh’s absence, saying, “He told me he didn’t feel he could leave his team [LA Chargers].”

It makes sense, considering the Chargers have a big game against the Raiders next weekend, and Harbaugh likely wants to avoid any distractions. Meanwhile, former Michigan quarterback and Harbaugh’s golden boy, JJ McCarthy, kept the hype alive. He reposted a Michigan clip on his IG story before their opener, saying, “Got chills…can’t wait to watch my dawgs eat!!!”

And the hype was real—the Wolverines got a solid 30-10 win against Fresno State. It looks like Moore is steering the team well even in Harbaugh’s absence.
