Is Chip Kelly the kryptonite to Michigan's perfect season? What do you think?

Despite Michigan’s winning streak against Ohio State the past three years, Ohio stands a chance this season when the two teams meet for ‘The Game’ on November 30. The confidence is due to the Buckeyes’ stronger-than-ever offense guided by new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Chip Kelly has vast experience as a head coach at Oregon, UCLA, and in the NFL, creating a surge of excitement and anticipation among Ohio fans. Things haven’t really started well for new Michigan HC Sherrone Moore. A rejuvenated Ohio would love to add to Moore’s misery. Given that, analyst Joel Klatt has praised Kelly’s offensive genius in a recent episode of “The Joel Klatt Show”.

On the September 11th episode of his show, Joel Klatt said, “So as we check in on Ohio State, you can say they haven’t played anybody, but I’m checking in on Chip Kelly. I’m checking in on that run game, and suddenly, that looks extremely dangerous. Ohio State looks extremely dangerous.” According to Klatt, Ohio has always been a great program, but now it has transformed to its newer version, which is going to be a tough nut to crack for his opponents in the upcoming games of the 2024 season.

Ranked No. 3, Ohio State is exactly what Klatt though they would be. “If we’re checking in on Ohio State two weeks in they are an elite team and a scary team if that run game is reliable and the defense is as good as we think it was going to be which is proving that out on the field, it’s going to be a hard team to beat a really hard team so if I’m a fan of Ohio State I feel great right now.”

Did Joel Klatt just hinted being a secret admirer of Ohio State? Well, it looks like, given his high respect for the program. Besides that, let us tell you that Joel Klatt is not the only one who admires Chip Kelly. We have Ryan Day on the board as well.

Ryan Day’s pleasant experience working with Chip Kelly

After their sluggish Week 1 victory over Akron, Ohio did not leave anything on the field against Western Michigan in Week 2. 683 yards of offense, around 100 yards given on defense, and touchdowns all around- what more can Ryan Day ask for? Of course, there are areas for improvement, especially since they are chasing Georgia. But, Ryan Day is impressed with the work Kelly has done to transform Ohio’s offense. “It’s been great. Kelly has done a great job so far,” Day said, impressed with the work done to transform Ohio’s offense. He mentioned a few pointers on how Kelly has helped them. First, he has impacted the Buckeyes offensive staff and gave it a fresh look.

Second, Day mentioned he could trust Kelly with anything. Day shares a unique bond with him. He said that if someday they indulge in an argument, at the end of the day, they’ll have each other’s back, and that’s the kind of relationship they have. “He’s very, very competitive, and so am I, but we see things the same way.” It’s important to have that kind of understanding among coaches to build a team effectively. Besides that, let us know your thoughts about Ohio’s two games this season.
