The Aggies are currently undefeated in the SEC and have already crossed two main hurdles: Notre Dame and Auburn. It’s a season where everything is clicking. The ground game for the team has been solid, having notched up 678 yards so far. Even the air game has proven to be stellar, with Mario Craver at 477 yards already. Marcel Reed is doing his role well enough for his team to win games. And now, according to Johnny Manziel, something special is in the pipeline for the big game in November.

The last time Texas A&M was this good was when Manziel was under center. The Aggies under head coach Kevin Sumlin started 4-0 and eventually finished 11-2, with Johnny Football winning the Heisman Award in 2012. It’s huge for the Aggies to finally glimpse on the same level of success after so many years. Jimbo Fisher’s $76 million buyout looks to be a distant memory to the excited fanbase.

Manziel appeared on the ‘NightCap’ podcast on September 29 with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson and was excited about his Aggies facing off against the Gamecocks in November. “They beat us last year in a game that we felt like we should win, and they beat us badly. Yeah. So, that’ll be a very interesting game,” said Manziel about the game, and went on to describe the locker room sentiments.

“I’m not going to give the whole thing away, but South Carolina weekend, those boys in that locker room, from what I have coming in that game, are going to be more motivated than any team, any game in the last 15 years at Texas A&M. I got a real special treat coming for the Aggies on November 15th. Fire. Program changing for us, in my opinion,” announced Johnny Manziel. The South Carolina game is quite interesting since the Gamecocks aren’t the same team they were last year.

Last year, preseason models had already given the Aggies the edge to win the game. Sports Illustrated, too, predicted a Texas A&M victory, with a prediction of a 31-24 scoreline, touting the Aggies’ offensive firepower. Despite those favorable predictions, the Aggies’ 20-44  loss to South Carolina will surely sting. So, now with Texas A&M having everything to beat them, along with South Carolina regressing, having lost 2 games against Vanderbilt and Missouri already. We should surely see a tense game at Kyle Field. As for Johnny Football, he has some news for Vandy fans.

Johnny Manziel impressed by Diego Pavia

Unlike South Carolina, Vanderbilt Football has upped its ante after its incredible 2024 season. Diego Pavia has returned again and is making sure that playoff qualification is finally achieved for Vanderbilt. For context, Vanderbilt is 5-0 this season, with wins against Virginia Tech and South Carolina. Pavia, too, has already passed for 1,211 yards at an incredible 74.6% efficiency. That has impressed Johnny Manziel, as he announced plans for Saturday night.

“I went to dinner with Diego Pavia tonight,” Manziel said. “They hungry. And guess what? I’m going to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Saturday, and I’m on the Vandy sideline. ‘Bring it on’ is what them boys are saying.” Manziel and Diego’s relationship can be traced back to a year when Vandy beat Alabama. Manziel praised Pavia’s leadership ability and compared the Vandy QB’s performance to his own 2012 Heisman season. “Couldn’t be happier for you. Sitting there and watching the whole thing play out has to feel like 2012 for me,” said Manziel.

Of course, Manziel’s 2012 season is already etched in footballing folklore, and Pavia needs to do  lot more too stay on the same path. Bama is coming after defeating Georgia in Athens. It will be an interesting matchup. Pavia and Clark Lea will leave no stone unturned to extract an upset. Moreover, with Manziel supporting Vandy from the sidelines, we just might see ‘Johnny Football’s’ aura making Pavia give another explosive performance.
