The latest updates on injury

On September 5, 2024, Charlie Potter, senior team writer for BamaOnLine, shared a post on his X account regarding DeBoer’s comment on Proctor’s injury. Where the coach said, “I think it’s more of a day-to-day than it is a week-to-week,“. On top of this, Proctor has “strong aspirations” to play, according to DeBoer, who stated on Wednesday that he wasn’t sure if the offensive lineman would suit up on Saturday. Although it was declared before that Procter’s injury is manageable.

However, expressing Procter’s passion for playing, DeBore said, “.. This guy is pouring everything into wanting to get on the football field. We’re talking about 6-8 hours a day in the training room.” Along with that, he continued, “He’s working towards it. We’ll have to kind of see right towards the end of the week. If it was up to him, you know, he’d probably be out there, but we got to be smart and that means that these days earlier in the week, we’ve got to be smart and careful.“. Now, the question is if he can’t play in week 2, who will play for Alabama in his place?

Who can be the replacement for Kadyn Proctor in Week 2?

With Proctor missing the game of Week 1 unexpectedly, Alabama used Elijah Pritchett as his replacement. On praising the left tackle of Alabama, DeBoer stated, “Really proud of the way he responded. I didn’t feel like he was overwhelmed in any way.” Moreover, he mentioned that Pritchett’s remarkable performance brought victory for the Crimson Tide with a 63-0 record over Western Kentucky.

Hence, it is expected that if Kadyn is not able to play in the upcoming match against USF, Pritchett will play for Alabama as a left tackle. Although, the future is unpredictable. So, we have to wait for the final announcement. Let’s see what time brings for the team this year.
