Just when Kalen DeBoer thought Alabama was finally gaining momentum, misery hit them hard. The team was all ready for a solid A-Day, but that ended with DeBoer’s key wide receiver getting injured. Noah Rogers’ first Alabama A-Day game ended early because he got injured during the spring scrimmage on Saturday. He got hurt after Alabama threw him a pass in the corner of the end zone. He caught the ball but got up slowly and couldn’t put weight on his left leg. This showed he was in pain and could not move properly.

Because of the injury, two trainers helped him walk off the field and took him to the medical room for a check-up. After doctors and staff looked at him, he was taken from the medical tent back to the locker room in a cart and was seen wearing a brace on his left knee. DeBoer then gave an injury update on his condition.

“He will have to get evaluated. “Unfortunate with him getting dinged up,” Alabama HC Kalen DeBoer said after the A-Day. “We’ll kind of see what that looks like. He will go get the MRI and all of that kind of stuff and see what happens. We’ll have more information here as we go through the spring and summer.”

Since DeBoer is still waiting on MRI results, the coaching staff cannot set a firm recovery timeline. This is a massive blow for Kalen DeBoer’s team, as Rogers was one of the key players in his offense, and he was pretty high on him since the start. For now, the medical team is playing it safe, leaving his Week 1 availability as a massive question mark.

“Noah’s been consistent, had a couple nice catches, made some big plays there when we needed to,” DeBoer said. “Even sometimes short ones where we got to move the chains. He’d probably be the one who stood out the most.”

Before arriving in Tuscaloosa, he proved his reliability at NC State, catching 68 passes for 919 yards and three touchdowns over two seasons. Since 2026 marks his redshirt junior year, the timing of this left knee injury is an incredibly frustrating setback for his career.

Even with Rogers sidelined, Alabama’s receiver room remains dangerous. Proven targets like Ryan Williams and Lotzier Brooks will anchor the group, while the injury opens the door for young talents like Derek Meadows to earn crucial first-team reps.

What makes the situation worse is that Rogers was expected to help the team in the very first game of the season, and he could even have been a starter if he had kept performing well in spring and summer.
