It’s more than just a proud dad moment for Kalen DeBoer. The second-year Alabama HC may be hustling to rebuild Nick Saban‘s legacy after a 9-4 campaign that left them out of the 2024 playoffs. But back at his former program in Washington, his daughter Alexis DeBoer, is crafting her own legacy, one powerful swing at a time. And now, she’s dropping a 7-word rally cry that has the whole Huskies dugout fired up. 

“SO PROUD OF MY PEOPLE!!!!!! LET’S GO!!!!!” Alexis DeBoer posted on her Instagram story on May 11, after Washington got the nod for the NCAA tournament. It’s not just hype. This team is headed to the Lubbock Regional to square off against Mississippi State, Texas Tech, and Brown from May 16-18. Considering Washington bowed out early in the Big Ten tournament after a tough 2-0 loss to Indiana, this at-large bid feels like redemption. And Alexis’ message is leadership wrapped in all-caps emotion. 

Kalen DeBoer’s daughter is an athlete in the making. She clobbered a three-run bomb against Alabama, her dad’s current team, at the Candrea Classic earlier this year. She’s been on the tear ever since and now, the nation’s watching. Coach Heather Tarr knew she had something special when she slotted Alexis into the starting lineup from Day 1. What followed was nothing short of electric. The freshman exceeded expectations — Big Ten Freshman of the Year, All-Big Ten first team, and now, a top-25 finalist for NFCA Freshman of the Year. This isn’t just some feel-good family storyline. This is dominance. 

We’re talking 20 home runs, 54 RBIs, a .369 batting average, and a jaw-dropping 1.304 OPS. Also, 55 hits, 54 runs batted in, and 126 total bases. That’s elite for a freshman. She leads the Huskies in just about every offensive category and ranks No. 12 in the nation. She’s playing like she’s been here for three years! And when she’s not crushing it at the plate, she’s energizing the entire dugout. And yeah, she’s not just lighting up on the diamond either.

Washington, riding a 14-game win streak at one point, is entering the Regionals hot, with Kalen DeBoer’s daughter leading the charge who earned D1Softball’s National Player of the Week last month. In the Black and Orange Classic, she went absolutely nuclear — .538 batting average, 1.769 slugging percentage, and five homers. That kind of production turns heads and changes postseason outcomes. 

Away from the diamond, Alexis DeBoer is blowing up the NIL world too. She inked a deal with Adidas, the $14.5 billion global brand. She posted a spring-themed Adidas campaign in a custom blue-and-brown pair of kicks with the caption, “Fling into spring with me” and turned her IG feed into a sports-lifestyle ad campaign. You see, she’s not just playing the game. She’s changing it.
