Last Week, the Bulldogs’ head coach went viral for a timeout incident against Auburn, which he later claimed to be a clapping gesture. Now, it seems Lane Kiffin decided to put his own twist on it. Before and during Ole Miss’s showdown with Georgia, Kiffin appeared to be in a playful mood, poking fun at both Kirby Smart and the officials in a moment that quickly made the rounds online.

During a 35-yard field goal attempt in the first half, play was halted when referees thought Kiffin had called a timeout. When the officiating referees confronted Lane Kiffin over the gesture, it appeared as if he was saying, “I was clapping.” Fans on X saw the hilarious side of the story, with one fan commenting, “This is why, despite being a douchebag, I can’t hate @Lane_Kiffin!”
As for the game itself, Georgia regained the lead in the fourth quarter (40-35), trying to finish strong after a shaky first half. Gunner Stockton played a precise pass to tight-end Lawson Luckie, who completed the touchdown from 7 yards. The mocking came back to bite Lane Kiffin, with Peyton Woodring adding another 3 points to Georgia’s comeback with a 42-yard field goal.

The performance showed how resilient Georgia is, and beating a team of Ole Miss’ quality will surely be a boost for Kirby Smart’s men. This defeat now means Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss is not invincible, and they will have to take a look at what went wrong in the second half of the game.
What’s next for Kirby Smart and Lane Kiffin?
Georgia came out on top, defeating an unbeaten Ole Miss in a fashion that cannot be written in a script. For Kirby Smart, Georgia’s slow start to the game continues to be a problem. In the first quarter, the Bulldogs did not have much impact on the game, and by the third quarter, it felt like the game was essentially over. WR De’Zhaun Stribling’s TD in the third quarter would’ve felt like a dagger into the heart for Georgia fans, but surprisingly, the Bulldogs persevered through it all.
Thanks to Gunner Stockton, Georgia fired back and completed the comeback in what was a must-win game for both sides. Now, they will look to continue their run against the Gators in November after a bye week.

Lane Kiffin was comfortable enough to make mocking gestures during the second quarter, but his team disappeared in the last moments of the game. Allowing a comeback after a lead of 9 points will be a topic of discussion in the Ole Miss dressing room. Now that they have finally lost, the Rebels will look to bounce back against Oklahoma next week.
