Lane Kiffin’s daughter, Landry Kiffin, set social media buzzing with a major dating update. And the hype? It comes straight from the “enemy camp.” On Monday, Landry shared a series of IG photos that instantly turned heads. Although the caption was simple: “happy.” Yet the moment was anything but typical. She’s sitting comfortably on the lap of LSU’s star LB, Whit Weeks. And the kicker? Weeks is set to face her dad’s Ole Miss team this weekend. So fans couldn’t help but chuckle at the irony: the Rebels’ coach’s daughter cozying up with a Tiger right before the big showdown. However, Father Kiffin is here to defend his daughter.

On September 23, Lane Kiffin reshared a family moment with Landry on X. The original post, from May 17, showed Landry with her mom, Layla, and her dad on a beach. This time, the reshared caption said it all: “Will be rooting for Rebs!!! 🩸” Through this simple post, Lane Kiffin made it clear that his daughter’s loyalty is with Ole Miss. So fans may have gotten their answer, but the possibility of a romance crossing rival teams is sure to spark plenty of hot takes. And why not, especially with Landry herself confirming it?

But the confirmation came with a little flair. One of her friends commented on a photo from her Monday IG series: “Hard Launch.” Landry liked it. Although subtle, it was a clear nod confirming the relationship. Now, here’s where it gets interesting. Although Landry always shows her Rebels pride. Her viral white-out look for the season opener had everyone talking. Even last Saturday against Tulane, she kept the streak alive in Rebels-black shorts. Should she cheer for her dad and boost Ole Miss in the CFB Playoff race, or side with her alleged boyfriend and his Tigers? So, loyalty and love are both on the line. While the rivalry just got a whole lot more personal, where do Lane Kiffin’s Rebels stand on the scoreboard?
With a 4-0 record, Kiffin’s team wants a major upset in Oxford. On the flip side, Brian Kelly‘s Tigers want to keep their spot in the SEC’s top five following wins over Florida and Clemson. And in response to his daughter’s post, Lane Kiffin joked, “Take the over,” hinting his Rebels’ offense would light up the scoreboard. Now with both Ole Miss and LSU at 4-0, the showdown has all the makings of a high-stakes shootout. But the big question remains: who will be QB1 when Ole Miss takes on LSU?

Lane Kiffin’s choice for QB1
The Ole Miss HC had said. “At 100%, Austin Simmons is our starting QB,” said Kiffin on Monday. But Simmons’ health is no sure thing. Simmons’ injury has opened the door for backup Trinidad Chambliss. And he has delivered.

In two starts, Chambliss has piled up 719 passing yards and 195 rushing yards. On top of that, he racked up six touchdowns. More importantly, he’s led Ole Miss to wins over Tulane and Arkansas, keeping the No. 11 Rebels unbeaten. So who gets the nod against LSU?
Kiffin isn’t tipping his hand yet. “We’ll have to evaluate (Simmons’) health and then make a decision,” he said. “Today was just a walkthrough, so not enough to evaluate. Health, for sure. To see if Austin is 100%. These guys (LSU) are really good on defense. They’ve really invested since we played them.” It may just be strategy, but all eyes are on who takes the starting QB role against LSU.
